That's exactly what you are doing right now.... Bridgewater was never the "consensus" #1 QB among NFL scouts and hasn't even been the consensus #1 QB in the media (which is the only place he was viewed in an extremely positive light) for months now. As to Derek Carr, NO ONE is considering him for the top pick and he's clearly undersized as well. While he's got a solid 6 or 7 pounds on Bridgewater, that's still undersized for the NFL. One of the big problems in this QB draft class is that 3 of the 4 top prospects are really too small, there are very few prospects in this class that are the right size to be an NFL QB. We've seen in the past that miracles can happen and some tiny QB's can have success, but it's still an outlier, most tiny QB's never amount to anything which makes a gamble on one very risky.
I think the same would be said for TB. I admit i've kind of given up tracking the draft and reports (mostly due to people's inability to have a rational discussion) so i'm little shocked how TB's value has seemingly dropped like a rock.
No, he'd still be undersized at 6'1. Even if he was the proper size for an NFL QB, that would be just one less red flag though, he would still have dreadful decision making skills and he'd still be a bad personality fit for the Texans and he'd still have all of that baggage.
No, he wouldn't, but it would be one fewer red flag. He would still have no deep ball, an awkward throwing motion, he'd still have small hands, he'd still have accuracy issues on passes more than 7 or so yards past the LOS, he'd still need lots of work on his footwork, and he'd still have questions related to him bombing the Wonderlic. I know some people don't think that test matters (which is weird because they wouldn't do it if it didn't matter), but IMO there's a reason why there were only 3 starting QB's that scored less than a 25 on it last year. There is no top QB prospect this year, they all have numerous shortcomings.
Yeah so you name a player who struggled with injuries throughout his career despite playing forever ago when players were slower, weaker, and smaller......Now I'm sold.
Bridgewater struggled with a few injuries as well and college is likely faster, stronger and bigger than it used to be too eh? You will never be sold.
That's what I believe people are missing... It's the physical measurables. A majority of the time it's the appearance that attracts us to people over the personality. If Andrew Luck didn't have the physical measurables he would be getting the same treatment the quarterbacks in this draft class are getting and maybe if Teddy and Johnny had Luck's physical measurables or had world class speed like RG3 they may get the same treatment that those quarterbacks received. Look at EJ Manual... He was the Blake Bortles of last year's draft (without all the hype) and he ended up getting drafted before the smaller quarterbacks ranked ahead of him. The same thing is going on with Clowney vs Mack. Just about everyone likes Mack and thinks he's the better fit for a 3-4 defense but Clowney is the consensus pick because of the physical measurables.
