Yeah, I wish he called a timeout sooner though when Portland went on that run before half time. And ran more plays for Troy
This is what concerns me of the fandom.... If these people were in charge they'd sign McHale to a four year deal after tonight... and claim him as a Rocket legend if he won just this series...
His substitutions were good. Keeping Harden on the bench in the 4th and riding Lin and Parsons was key.
As usual when the clock hit 8:00 he went away from everything that had worked to that point. Otherwise, no strong complaints from me. All the guys with beards under one inch looked like they cared at least.
Good job Milk Hair. Good job. Get to the second round or game seven and I'll be tentatively okay with keeping you one more season. (unless Doc Rivers is available)
He did quiet well tonight. He subbed in the right guys at the right time. My only concern to me personally is that when they get under 5 no matter what has happened, you need to call a timeout. Can't let them get within 5 points in my opinion. We make mental mistakes, and have a hard time closing out teams. So it's not a bad idea to call a timeout if it's within 5 just to rest, relax and instill some will into your team. He didn't call a timeout until we were up by only 2 i believe, and the Howard hit a basket and what not, but yeah, good job for the most part.
Letting Harden ride the pine and giving Lin more minutes were the major decisions and they turned out well. but... McHALE IS NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER COACH!!!
