Because we weren't a contender back then, we were a treadmill team. Frustrations can boil over when you can't even make the playoffs. Aaron Brooks came back with a more professional attitude. I'd hope Lowry could too.

I think that's a very good starting point for a Lin and Lowry swap. I'm a Raptors and a Rockets fan and I think this can make a lot of sense for both teams. I think if Houston could unload both Asik and Lin at the same time and acquire Lowry and additional assets, it would be a win-win situation.

    To Raps:
    Asik
    Lin
    2 1st round picks

    To Rockets:
    Lowry
    Hayes
    Patterson

Rockets successfully get rid of both Asik and Lin for cap flexibility and additional cap savings. They give up 2 late first round picks and in return they bolster their chase for a Championship by adding the bulldog Lowry and Patterson has been an absolute stud for the Raps off the bench. Lowry and PPatt are expirings so this just gives Houston mad flexibility. Rockets become legitimate championship contenders with Lowry and shedding of two poison pill contracts at the same time.

Raptors love Patterson but would have no room for him if they acquired Asik, a rotation of Johnson/Valucinas/Asik/Hansborough would be more than good enough. Jonas is not quite there yet in terms of being a rim protector and Asik would provide solid interior defense that Valucinas lacks. Raps can also decide to flip him for additional assets after he contributes to their playoff run. Lin is an adequate replacement for Lowry that keeps them competitive and also he would be great for marketability and popularity.

    Kyle's stat line tonight

    21 points in 19 minutes, 70% shooting

Locking down Deron Williams, who has 3 points on 1-4 shooting

Making clutch plays all series, leader of the Raptors

We would be favorites in the West if we kept this guy.

In retrospect, was it worth it to give up Kyle Lowry for a chance at James Harden?

Harden is more talented, but Kyle plays with the kind of intensity and intelligence that Harden can only dream of.

No we wouldn't, we wouldn't have James Harden or Dwight Howard if we kept this guy.

If you remember correctly, we traded the pick we got for Lowry for Harden, then Dwight signed because we had Harden.

We keep Lowry, none of that happens.

We made a big mistake becoming impatient and not waiting on Jeremy Lamb to develop.

I know it drives me crazy. In fairness though we might not of had James if we didn't trade him for a number 5 pick. But Dragic...no excuses. The man was playing great when we let him walk.

Lowry averaged 9pts playing alongside Rudy Gay, while handling the ball and running a lot more PnR than Lin. We probably would not make the playoffs last year if we somehow had both Lowry and Harden, and no playoffs probably means no D12 either.

Because Lowry was the same player back then as he is now.

You think he'd play as good if Gay was still in Toronto? The system and the fit doesn't matter?

My bad. Completely forgot Gay played in Toronto. Thought you meant Memphis.

If the Rockets had Lowry they wouldn't have gotten Harden. Dragic on the other hand....
