Losing record... Last in the division... So does it really matter....??? What joy do you get out of that...??? I just hope the Texans learn from their mistakes and so far it doesn't look like they are.
I haven't read past the first page because the thread is already 8 freaking pages long... so forgive me... but has MadMax confirmed these sources as legitimate?
Okay, so assuming we trade back, it does look like Mack or Barr. Very interesting. Interesting about Barr. He's been the biggest wildcard in all the draft analysis i've looked at. NFL draft countdown has Barr ranked ahead of Mack http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Rankings.php Ourlads has Barr ranked ahead of Mack http://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-footbal...s-by-position/rankings/outside-linebackers/13
Barr is like a slightly more athletic version of Travardo Williams who is already on the team. I wouldn't draft him unless it was a lot later than he'll go. Mack should be gone in the first 5 picks or so. If we trade back, we'd be looking to reach on a QB or go after Mack if in the top 5.
I get joy that they didn't pick the wrong player, and had the best overall draft in this franchise's history... and hopefully won't do the same thing again in this draft. Also, 39-41 during the Williams era is far from "terrible"... and that includes the wasted Frank Bush year where they could have easily had a winning record with even a mediocre defense.
Don't bother, Nick. Posters like Remii settle on a narrative and never, ever - under any circumstances - budge from it because to do so would require effort, critical thinking and some humility. And that's simply asking too much. He even admitted to this type of lazy analysis in another thread: It’s frustrating because there are enough dedicated, passionate fans here to really have frank, engaging discussions that absolutely could move needles. Too few are interested in it, unfortunately.
Bob McNair, your church buddy? Is that you Gary? If what I read is true, your friend never said JFF by name and he only alluded to past failures that could hint at a trade down? I don't have any friends that provide insider information at this point but if i'm reading this correctly, your friend is way too cryptic. I don't mean that as a knock on your information because I really appreciate you sharing, it's more of a interest in the communication style of your source.
3pm central. I'm sure the Texans website will carry it. If you're near a TV NFL Network will also show it live. Don't expect Smith to say much. He's pretty good at answering questions without answering them.
What's the point of calling a press conference if you have nothing to say? It would be funny if they announced they just signed Clowney. Didn't they do that with Mario back in 2006? I know, I know. Not gonna happen.
I wouldn't call either source a friend... And the hint is not about past failures, though I understand that rather obvious conclusion. No, the hint has more to do with appearences (or lack thereof). Somebody will not be in New York, and that would not align with our first overall pick history... Again, not a friend. These are direct sources of information. And the situation dictated the style of communication - I can't say how this person might normally speak as I'd never spent time with him previously. MadMax knows what I'm talking about......
