No. It would be a negative move.

You are trying to justify this from the Bulls perspective. Their owner would be paying more money, but it would make them a better team.

For the Rockets, I would rather play Jones or DMo over what's left of Boozer. And his contract wouldn't give us any more flexibility than having Asik and Lin would.

Use Scola as a comparison, when the Rockets dumped him couple years ago, the Suns and other teams are willing to bid on him, if my memory will be correct, the Suns placed a 4 mils price tab on Scola.

If the Bulls will do the same on Boozer, I expect there will be teams willing to offer the similar bid comparing to Scola did coupel years ago.

He does still have some usage value for teams.

While the player's actual usage value of Lin + Asik (mainly Asik) will be greater than Boozer, with their cap numbers will be pretty close, the extra 15 mils of salary will even it out also.

I would trade Lin+fillers for Bozzer! But only if it didn't interfere with getting our third star (Carmelo anyone?), I'm not sure what Bozzers cap hit is so it depends on what that is!

Why do it! TO GET THE GARM BACK!

Gibson and Butler are exactly the type of players we need to add. But, they need to add scoring punch not Asik.

most of you don't realize how ridiculously overpaid lin and asik are, especially lin. In order to trade them, we'd have to take on another overpaid, under perform/over the hill player. If Lin is a dependent and consistent 6th man I can swallow(barely) paying him 15 mil next season, but man he's only good every 3, 4 games, that's just highway robbery.

when i saw the title of this thread i immediately assumed someone mistakenly thought we could trade for boozer and then amnesty him. If we could, then yeah, I'm on board. But we can't, so there's absolutely no point.

This is what we should do: Send Lin + 1st round pick to 76er's for a second rounder (i know its steep but at this point it's going to take a bribe to get out from his contract) and Asik to Charlotte for second rounder (he'd be great next to Jefferson, they'll take the next step). Make Parsons restricted free agent, go after and sign any free agent all star possible (but best chance is Melo). Then go over the cap to sign Parsons to a long term deal. Buy out Garcia of his player option if he takes it, waive Casspi, Hamilton, trade D-Mo plus future pick for anything that resembles a backup center. That would give us

    beverley/canaan
    harden/daniels
    parsons
    melo/jones/covington
    howard/dmo replacement

If we miss out on Melo or another obvious all star, it would be sort of ironic to try and go after Lowry.

When he says trade him for nothing, he means nothing. He needs the cap space for Melo.

Lin and Asik would take him out of the Melo run unless he could move both. ie. They are going to amnesty Boozer because they will find no takers and they want to make a offer for Melo.

I never even considered the possibility that cf members that joined in 2013 could have also just started being a rockets fan in 2013. This is worse than the Jerry Sloan for coach thread that came up last year.

Deadly midrange shooters aren't welcomed on this team.
