He's not great, but he's ok. He'll always give you effort and will never slack off his man. Defense was his calling card when he was drafted. He was underdeveloped offensively but had great defensive capabilities.

He does have problems with small speedy guards that became popular as offensive role players in the last couple of years, but that's really not a surprise. PG has become the most varied position in the NBA since he entered the league. On one side you have big 6'5 guards who dominate with length and power and on the other 5'9 speedsters who use their extraordinary quickness to bust defenses. There isn't a single defender, except John Wall who is truly a freak of nature, who could cover tho whole range. So he will have problems with somebody like I. Thomas, but you have to understand that in this instance a 6'4 Dragić is 7 inches taller than the man he's trying to cover. Put a 6'11 forward on him and see how he does.

Because of the variety of the PG position it has become almost essential for an NBA team to have at least two good defenders at the position - first one in the lower and second one in the upper size range - so it can compete according to specific match-ups day in day out.

Anyone realize cyberx never posts anything before something happens? Never oh we didn't want lin before lin messed up? Never oh the teammates use lin as a version of Mario chalets before lin messed up? Never oh we are going for dwight before it became so bleeding obvious?

Why do you always come out with posts like these after a significant event happens?

Morey and McHale met after game 2, when people were calling for McHale's head. Morey wanted Dragic over Lin, after Lin makes arguably the most costliest mistake of the season/playofs.

Very opportunistic. Or are you just saying what we already know, or what we all want to hear?

Cyberx is really just Morey trying to cover his own arse. Sure Daryl...blame it on the old man.

Just seeing these last 2 seasons on how morey tried to bench Lin on any occasion possible shows that morey probably didn't want Lin from the get go. Remember that Portland game a couple years ago towards the end where he tried to replace Lin with toney Douglas? Same excuse, he was supposed to be a good defender etc

I've got my "people" (though I guess not as high-level as CyberX) and I've posted stuff before it happened, but this is damn news to me.

But it was a decision to either meet Dragic's demands or let him walk and someone chose the latter. If you just listen to Les it is clear he was annoyed that Lin got away. And when Lin was here after signing Les looked extremely elated. So you can continue to believe Cyberx is a phoney but your reasoning doesn't prove anything.

Yeah, I have a hard time agreeing with this.

We tried to sign Dragic first. Why would we have done that if Les didn't want him? The hangup on Dragic's contract was the 4th year player option, and after that was exhausted that is when we pursued Jeremy Lin. I know it looks like a terrible move now, but at the time there really wasn't another viable option at PG left and our team looked like a mess with Kevin Martin, Parsons, Patrick Patterson and....ummm....

Alas, hindsight is 20/20, we should have given Dragic that 4th year.

His basketball awareness and decision making are horrible .

This series is too close for bonehead mistakes .

Lin fans always use this everybody makes mistakes excuse. But you don't pay someone that much money to make those mistakes.

I do believe the OP that getting Lin was a Les move.
No coincidence we see ads for Taiwan at the Toyota center

Read the title of this thread if you want reasoning.

Did Morey or Les have a choice between Dragic and Lin? Of course not. When Morey was deciding whether to sign Dragic with the player option, Knicks was the team had the ultimate decision on Lin's future. Les or Morey can NOT force Lin to become a Rocket. How can it become a choice when someone else hold that decision?

However I do believe Les was the force behind upping the poison pill from 20 to 25M.

Go back to the timeline. The choice at the time was Lin/Sessions/other FA's. It was never Lin/Dragic.

Something tells me you wouldn't put much money on this actually being true.
