Enough about wanting to ship Lin's butt outta Houston. Enough about Harden being a sieve on defense. Enough about Parsons being the second best SF in this series.

There hasn't been a single thread about Dwight Howard, the best 5 in the league, and the best player we have in the postseason.

Hibbert's ghostly performance in the ATL series got me thinking about the "contenders" to that best 5 spot.

    Through the 2014 playoffs:

    Dwight Howard, owning Lopez/Freeland:
    27.0 PTS
    14.3 REBS
    1.5 ASTS
    3.0 BLKS

    Joakim Noah, owned by Nene:
    11.5 PTS
    11.5 REBS
    4.0 ASTS
    1.0 BLKS

    Marc Gasol, owning Perkins/Thabeet
    17.3 PTS
    8.0 REBS
    4.3 ASTS
    0.8 BLKS

    Roy Hibbert, owned by Antic/Millsap/Scott:
    4.8 PTS
    3.4 REBS
    0.5 ASTS
    0.5 BLKS

Kendrick Perkins, owned by his own lack of basketball skill:
    4.3 PTS
    5.8 REBS
    0.5 ASTS
    0.5 BLKS

Now, I know what all of you are thinking. Roy Hibbert still has time to show the world that he's on Kendrick Perkins level. But Indy is about to get beat, Chicago is about to get beat, and OKC, if they're not careful, could lose to Memphis.

tl;dr / tl;don't care about stats? Kendrick Perkins still has time to carry his team to the second round. Oh, and THANK GOODNESS for Dwight Howard.

Yeah Dwight for the win. Oh wait he's one of the main culprits for losses? Say what?

    Game 1
Couldn't get the rebound to seal the deal. Letting Aldridge get it and tie the game. Let us not forget the Hack a Dwight being so bad that he had to sit.

    Game 2
Became a ballhog in the first quarter. Ended up gassed and useless for the rest of the game. Dude was 0-7 at one point.

    Game 3
Pick and Roll with Harden finally. Rockets fans just been waiting the whole season for it. We came out with the win. Hmmm....I wonder why.

    Game 4
Pick and Roll? Derp what is that? Oh let's post myself up in crunch time situations despite the fact I suck at it. Oh is that a triple team coming? I better listen to Shaq and BBQ chicken it! And there goes the ball.

I'm trying to find something positive to say, and of course there are posters that go negative.

Why even watch the Rockets, then? Go jump on the Heat bandwagon, since they're perfect in the playoffs so far.

You trying to bring up Dwight's stats by propping them up to the other bigs in the playoffs.

Dwight is "dominating" against Lopez and some rookie. But he can't get it done in crunch time. LMA has owned him on both sides of the court.

LMA has owned the entire Rockets, stop putting that on Dwight. He has been our best player in this series. I don't know why you had to argue with that.

Uh, comparing centers to other centers is taboo, now? Oh, you're totally right. I should compare Dwight's stats to Chris Paul and Steph Curry, right? Dwight with that crappy 1.5 AST total / game is trash - worst PG in the game. Amirite?

Dwight's defense on Aldridge, on the few times Dwight has actually bodied him up, has been very good. Aldridge's defense on Dwight in the post hasn't been completely bad, but it hasn't been good at all, either.

wtf man, Dwight has played an AMAZING playoff series. He brought it. I was happy when he signed and for the most part, he's been worth every penny for the regular season and the playoffs. I'm just sad it probably won't translate to any actual playoff success for our team...

Not just any posters -- LOFs absolutely hate it when someone other than the Chosen One plays well.

Lolol when Kendrick Perkins has better numbers that you, you must really be bad. Hibbert can no longer be in the discussion for top anything for center. I would take Asik than him. I know Asik would average 10/13 in a series versus the hawks.

Howard has been our best player. Other players must step up.

I actually like this post. A lot of this could be blamed on the coach. But the basic sentiment I agree with: as good as Howard has been this series, he has not proven himself to be a reliable closer at all. Harden's done it all year. Don't give up on him now.

I've said this all alone, Howard is one of the very few players who changes the outcome of the game. He is the only bright spot on the Rockets in this series.

Harden sucked all four games, Parsons sucked all except half game, Lin & Bev's lack of offense & both TOs at the critical time, and Jones has been useless most of the time, Asik was good only on one end.

Even with the terrible performance so far from everyone except Howard, still three games went into OT. So it's still hope there that the remaining game(s) should be close, and the ball might bounce to the Rockets way a couple of time from here on.

Sleepy Asian has some points, like it or not.

Dwight Howard has been great in this series.

There is not doubt about that.

Sadly, he comes up short in the closing minutes of the game.

As one of our stars, he needs to show up in the closing minutes of the game as well.

He did that defensively yesterday night when we were down by eight.

But, it wasn't enough to even the series with Portland.

I hope we see more defensive plays from him in the closing minute of the game in the upcoming game(s).

Also, I am proud of Dwight for finally making his free throws.

He is a great man and I hope he retires a Rocket.

I totally agree. Dwight has been not only neglected of love by refs (RIMSHOT! :p) but also by the media and this board.
    But umm...

Does anybody remember who tied the game to send it to overtime last night?
