Question it. Lol. I don't care. "Harper is sharper". "Mase in your face". Hubert Davis clutch free throws vs the Bulls. Starks made bone-headed plays, sometimes didn't play within the system, and lost games for the Knicks, the biggest one being in the finals. I loved him for his heart and he won many games for NY as well. He also frustrated me like no other. My point was Lin is also a frustrating player to watch.
It was in the Blazers interest to foul early if Lin didn't get ripped to use as little clock time, hence the ideal play was to pass to someone. Someone even spelled out the typical outcomes for you.
except we are not guaranteed a win even if Lin had held the ball without a turnover. There are many what ifs that has happened in this series with every single player that was basically the difference between 2-2 series and 3-1 hole. I can understand the frustration, hell i was so ****ing angry last night, but to put the focus on player for one play is simply not looking at the big picture which has a shet load of worse problems than Lin.
Hasheem Thabeet is a frustrating player to watch as well. But no one is going to compare him to Charles Smith, another frustrating player for the Knicks to watch because he was soft. The reason being, Charles Smith still gave you something during the playoffs. Lin's production in the playoffs has been on Hasheem Thabeet's level. The difference is that Brooks of all people knows that you cant expect to put Hasheem during cirtical junctures of the game and win it. McHale OTOH seems to put the ball and the outcome of the game in Lin's hands.
I've blamed everyone, and Lin, but everyone is trying to make it seem it's the only reason we lost, it's not It was not the last play of the game I'm more pissed of bevs turnover because we didn't get a shot off Maybe I would be more upset if we lost in regulation, but we still could have won in OT
Lin knows he made a mistake. They lost the game. We can't change that fact now. Move onto Game 5...its more important to win the next game than dwell on Game 4.
So then be more pissed at Bev. No one's trying to talk you out of that. But other people are entitled to their opinions, just as you are to yours.
This basically If we do lose the series Parsons, Lin and asik probably won't be here next year McHale wont be the coach Melo or rondo will be here Sometimes you have to look at the long term good of losing(would rather win the next 3 games)
Lin should be flattered people expect him to shoulder the performance of the team like he is a max contract player.
Absolutely, I just try and show how disappointing other players have been too Only thing that bothers me is people blaming Lin for all 3 loses Teams lose games
Of course we aren't guaranteed a win, but the chance of us winning that game goes up exponentially. That play directly led to a scramble and a 3 pointer. C'mon man, I've been a Rockets fan since I was 10 years old, I know when a single play costs us the game. Prime example last night. I don't understand how people can actually defend this guy right now.
Lin ****ed up huge last night, I agree, but you do realize this team is first round fodder still without lin?
It's not about defending Lin, it's about trying to get some people to have some ****ing perspective. Only an idiot would defend Lin's actions. And to be quite fair, some idiots have. But on the other hand, only an idiot would solely blame Lin for the loss when the entire team lost the lead to the point where one rebound was the key play down the stretch and then subsequently failed to get anything going in overtime. A lot of bad things happened concurrently to get us the ****ty result.
Don't front with that comparison. I didn't know Lin averaged 2 ppg and zero assists like Thabeet. Lin gave you "something" in game 3 of this series. He had key layups a pullup and assists in crunch time. He also made the gamble which led to "the" blown layup.
I would contend that we could have done better just by not having him on the floor. What exactly has he done this series? Which of Lin's numbers stands out?? He is not matched up against a juggernaut player either. He is going up against Mo Williams who is another pitiful player and has been a dud his entire career. This is a matchup I had hoped Lin would exploit before the series started.
You can twist it whichever way you want, you can blame Harden, Parsons Beverley and try focus on their numbers but fact remains that Lin's low BBALL IQ and poor ball handling skills cost us this game. I do not like McHale at all but that possession was on Lin. McHale did mention during the timeout by all accounts that call a timeout unless you have a clear lane. Lin just makes dumb plays down the stretch time and again. He can hustle all he wants but ultimately it is futile
