I'm more flabbergasted by why McHale put in Lin at the last 50 seconds for the rebound, instead of Asik or Jones... since he was gonna call TO after the rebound, that's when he should've put Lin in (even tho he shouldn't have at all). Fail ****in coach.
I dont want to start a new thread but damn Batum is so clutch... What did we trade him for again? And why did we trade him? Cant remember
Mo williams right foot was out of bound when he made the steal. Ref swallowed the whistle or probably they didnt want another overtime n just want to go home, have a tenderloin cheateaubriand steak n a 1980 red wine to reflect what a great day it has been at work, make love to the girlfriends n go to sleep in a nice Tempur bed that Tim Donaghy helped to pay.
If I really need to spell out for you why it was pretty much a guaranteed win, you really know nothing about basketball. Like I said, there is no such thing as 100% until the whistle actually blows, but the odds were heavily stacked in our favor at that point in time provided we did not turn the ball over. We were up 2 with the ball in our possession. We could have called time out to reset the play (ideal) or even hang on to the ball and force them to foul. As for how hard it was, are you seriously kidding me? Every player on both teams knew what was going on, everyone but Lin apparently.
First of all I'm not a Lin fan, second it was a **** mistake and **** lin We had a chance to win before his mistake We had a chance to win after his mistake What pisses me off is I really want Parsons to show up batum and bev to do anything, but they are both been disappointing I wish there was a thread about how disappointing other player are, but there isn't, everyone only cates about is lin
His 6 min in the first half when he scored 9 points he gave up 7,but he's a rook our next coach will teach him
Here are the possible outcomes if Lin doesn't turn the ball over: 1) The Rockets score a basket on the next possession. That would give them a 4 or 5 point lead with probably around 15 seconds left, give or take. Could the Blazers come back and tie the game in that situation? Possibly, but it's very unlikely. 2) The Rockets draw a foul on the next possession. Whether intentional or not, that gives them 2 free throws. Odds are they hit at least 1 of 2 which means we're looking at a 3 or 4 point lead with anywhere from 15-25 seconds. Could the Blazers come back and tie the game in that situation? Sure, but the odds are still against them especially if it's a 4 point Rockets lead. 3) The Rockets fail to score on the next possession. That would leave the lead at 2 points, but odds are we use most of the shotclock which would leave the Blazers with just over 10 seconds left to tie or win the game. Could they do it? Absolutely, but at the very least the Rockets would be able to set up their defense out of a timeout. Instead we get the worst possible outcome. Lin turns the ball over and the Blazers get two shots out of a scramble play, the 2nd of which is a 3-pointer that goes in.
There were at least three threads about how poor Harden has been. They haven't been bumped since the game last night. Care to guess why? There are discussions about how bad Chandler has been. Those also took a back seat. You still aren't seeing the forest for all the trees. It's not about what happened before and after that play. We all know a lead was blown and we didn't win in OT. But the KEY play, the play that most likely cost us a win and gave the Blazers the chance to win in OT was the mistake by Lin. Think about it this way: Let's say you and some friends are spending the day riding around on your jet ski. Everyone gets a turn, but right before it's your turn the guy before you floods it, stalls it out and damages it. Now, chances are everyone could have had a hand in damaging the thing. But you're not going to be mad at everyone, you're most likely going to be mad at the dude riding it when it broke. Then some of your friends could try to help you fix it, but it's busted now and you're done for the day.
Almost every post I've read from you today is trying to point out how poor every other players was aside from Lin. I'll take your word that you're not a Lin fan but you're trying very hard to pin the responsibility on anyone but him.
Ok, Let's say Lin called timeout with 32 seconds left to go, Rockets burned next 20 seconds with Harden's ISO without scoring (typically), then Liliard had a 3 point winning shot, so no OT, then everyone would b happy? This a NBA game with two possessions left, how came Lin is the reason for the loss? how about those turnovers from other rockets players just a few possessions ago? why 32 second is the tipping point for the guilty or not? the only deadly turnover was the one from PB in OT, that was the last possession with no time left, which I didn't see a single thread talking about it.
I understand the odds are in our favor in that situation, but it was FAR from "guaranteed". If it was under 24 seconds, then I'd agree with you. We'd basically have to screw up (or miss alot of free throws) to let the Blazers back in the game, in that situation. But it wasn't, there was 33 seconds! BTW, we can't simply "hang on to the ball there and force them to foul". There's such a thing as a 24 second shot clock.
