Bradley was looking good the first few rounds, but just lost his game plan trying to go for the KO. Diaz was noticeably getting pissed off at him. Kellerman or whatever his name is said it best, the fact that pacquiao has so much more natural talent than bradley meant that bradley was exerting so much more just to stay even with him, really told in the 2nd half of the fight.
Can B-Hop do it again at 49 yo? http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/10801713/bernard-hopkins-make-history-again
http://mmashare.co/boxing-videos-discussion-f44/bernard-hopkins-vs-beibut-shumenow-t73918.html Link to a replay of the fight -- round 11 is the best -- Hopkins threw heavy punches all fight and looked like he was about 30 yo. If Adonis Stevenson wins with another huge KO setting up him and B-Hop for the full LW unification bought it will be huge. Hopkins will be 50 yo for that fight if it happens and it will if Stevenson wins his next fight.
Mayweather/Maidana, All Access <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/-NEZhvXt-j4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I was going to not buy and stream this fight since I think it was a b****-move for Floyd to say, choose my opponent, people chose Khan, and Floyd says, never mind, I'll choose. Now I think Maidana EARNED it, but Khan would have been a more interesting fight. BUT...my bro gonna get the fight, so I'll watch it there, hahahah.
Mayweather Maidana is going to look very similar to Pacquiao Rios.... Maidana is just too slow to even threaten Mayweather and Mayweather will give him a real good boxing lesson.. Throw a few quick combos and step back.. throw another few combos and step back.. repeat for 12 rounds for the easy unanimous decision
That's an odd comparison. Obviously, Mayweather and Pacquiao are very different fighters, so I guess you're saying that Maidana and Rios are alike. Rios fights like he's in the back of a bar at 2:00 am. He's tough, but not smart. Maidana actually puts some thought into the way he attacks an opponent. He's also much mobile than Rios, not that that's saying much because Rios has a fighting strategy that looks like: That's not to say that Maidana will win or the odds are wrong. Though anything can happen, Mayweather is like Deep Blue and Leonard Ellerbe makes sure he avoids any potential Kasparov out there.
Teddy Atlas without a doubt the biggest douchebag in boxing. I just watched a fantastic performance by Dr Steelhammer pummeling Leapai into la la land. Dr Steelhammer has a heavy heart towards his native Ukraine but managed to block everything out and delivered a spectacular knockout. What does Atlas do? He berated Wladimir throughout the whole fight saying that Wlad never fought anybody, he even called Wlad a Russian. Hey Teddy...go suck on some imaginary American champion that you've been fantasizing in your wet dreams with your nasty beaver teeth. What a pathetic excuse for a human being. Dr Steelhammer will rule the universe until he decides to hang it up!
This fight was pathetic, opponents always have some kind of blackout vs Klitschkos, it's ridiculous. Leapai wins his last five fights by KO, beats Boytsov and then lands ten(!!!!) hits in the whole fight vs Wladimir????? Never seen a more lopsided fight in recent years.
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/floyd-...efer-082722406.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory De La Hoya has only recent begun to appear in public again following his most recent rehab stint, and he's alluded on and off to his problems with Schaefer on his social media feeds. He's also practically begged Top Rank and its CEO, Bob Arum, to do business with him again. Schaefer has flat-out said he will no longer work with Arum. So, while it's hard to know exactly what the problems between De La Hoya and Schaefer are and how deep they run, it's likely centered around the fact that De La Hoya isn't thrilled with Schaefer's alliance with Mayweather and Haymon, and that he feels he's being pushed out of his own company.
Schafer seems like a douche. Both Oscar and Bob have suprisingly said nice things about each other recently.
Showtime's fights this last Saturday were good. In particular, Matthysse's fight was a fan-friendly fight. Keith Thurman didn't get much of a chance to show his skills, but man he looks impressive. Figueroa's fight started very entertaining, and was a close fight. One of the score cards certainly raises an eyebrow. Can they make it less obvious that a judge is getting paid off?
Man, I know Mayweather will most likely dominate like he always does, but it never fails. A part of me hopes that El Chino is just relentless and goes after him. I thought Canelo would being 15 lbs heavier than Floyd, but he tried to out box Floyd...bad move. Truth is, I want Floyd to be really tested by being hurt and come out on top. That or see him get KO'd because that would just be crazy.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/m...oya-meets-arum-attempt-feud-article-1.1777617 Oscar De La Hoya, who founded Golden Boy Promotions more than a decade ago, told the Daily News on Thursday that he had traveled to Bob Arum's home in Beverly Hills to discuss working with Arum and ending the feud that has kept many high-profile matches in boxing from being made, including the biggest of them all, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. De La Hoya, who says he is now clean and sober and wants to take a more active role in the company, and Richard Schaefer, the CEO of Golden Boy, are also feuding and are currently engaged in a power struggle to determine who leads the firm. The two haven't spoken in nearly a month and though De La Hoya is scheduled to attend Saturday's big fight between Mayweather and Marcos Maidana (which is co-promoted by Golden Boy) Schaefer told the Daily News he has no intentions of talking to De La Hoya while they're in Las Vegas. The genesis of the disagreement between De La Hoya and Schaefer centers around De La Hoya's recent desire to work with Arum and Schaefer's refusal to do business with the octogenarian.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Dl8-YUleKok" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So far this year, Showtime has some of the better cards, even better undercard fights than HBO.
Yes Showtime/GoldenBoy has definitely been putting on better cards than HBO. Im all for action fights and Showtimes pleases in that department for the most part. Which is why I think this undercard is pretty weak for them. They are all safe fights for the big namers (khan, broner,j'eon). Khan vs Collazo could be fun but if Khan wants that Mayweather fight, he needs to look real good against Collazo. There was some glove controversy going down earlier. I believe Floyd wasn't approving of Maidanas glove but its all cleared up now. Probably just trying to add drama to the fight.
I watched a couple videos of Maidana and he looks kinda slow. We all know how quick Mayweather is at evading punches but we'll see.
