He'll get fired(or technically won't be brought back). Morey and Les may screw up from time to time, but they're not stupid and they're not lacking in terms of competitiveness. If they're at all serious about winning, they know they have 2 years left before Dwight can bolt and they can't risk p-ssing away another season with McHale as their head coach.
Well, this thread started out in inspiring fashion & was quickly drowned in pessimism. :-/ I still believe they can pull it out -- if THEY believe they can.
If I know the rockets like I think I do after all these years of watching them, they're going to blow out the blazers in game 5. Where we go from there, who knows.
Honestly this series is up for grabs. Every game has been down to the wire one loose ball one less turnover and we would be up 3-1. I believe

The team will explode in the next three games and win the series. Bev will posterize the opponents best big guy, Lin will steal the marker and draw up great plays for Harden, CP25 will set a new three point record and H&H will combine for more than 60 pts. You know how I know that? All of this has happened before! WE'RE TAKING THE SERIES!
James Harden is apathetic to the cause. He does't play defense, to me he says come on into my house and take it... i don't really want it that badly. Lin, all i can say is, poor excuse for an "NBA" caliber player. Has no b ball IQ... Harvard grad my ass. Let's see if i hold the ball, they will try to foul me. I like to dribble around so looks like i'm trying... whoops! didn't work... again. Why doesn't it work? I keep trying? dough!
We better not lose it on our home floor, I don't care about game 6, last year we lost at home and that just cannot happen. All year we were a great home team, let's have at least one game where we get out on the break, run and show what we can do. Blazers have a better chance to beat Dallas and Spurs anyway + I'm hoping with a 1st round exit McHale is fired and this time we interview dozens of possible coaches before we 'settle' on one. Then replace Casspi, D-Mo, Lin and possibly Parsons if you can get an upgrade. I really hope Garcia exercises his player option, he deserves another shot with a competent coach.
It isn't over until it is over. And then we will regroup, retool, and make roster changes. Morey is reponsible for hiring McHale and he should re-evaluate or his job is at stake too. The group as a whole is good for 54 wins but is not ready for hardcore playoff basketball.
