Morey needs to be on the hot seat as well

I got flamed big time for making this thread and I was expecting to get flamed but people need to take the rose colored glasses off when it comes to Morey. This that we are witnessing in the playoffs is his baby. He should be fired for the fact he hired McHale alone. I don't want to hear the excuse about the team was rebuilding when he was hired. You NEVER hired a bad coach under any circumstances.

Four straight coin flips. 3 tails 1 head. Blazers have played amazing so far. Rockets fans will carry us to victory in game 5 Wed
— Daryl Morey (@dmorey) April 28, 2014

this is where morey fails. 4 coin flips you say? then maybe a competent x's and o's coach with a real offense and defense scheme can make it decisive and not leave it to chance.

Rox crapped the bed in their 3 losses. Morey trying to put spin on this fiasco. Rox look unorganized far too much on both ends of the court. Like I said earlier, this is his baby we are witnessing flame out at the current moment.

What are the chances you think Lowry would like to come back to the Rockets. I read a story about he regrets his issues with McHale. He sure would look good now...

In terms of team-building, it was clear that this season was going to be the worst of it. The Rockets by maxing out on Dwight had to clear their entire roster and left the team with very little in terms of depth. I thought that the Rockets won't hit their stride until next year. But at the very least, I expected us to beat Portland. So in that sense I'm still pissed unless we can come back.

If you're going to pile on Morey for not giving the team enough players around Harden and Howard, his only big mistake was signing Lin(and letting Dragic go). Otherwise, wait til next season to pile on Morey now that he'll have the MLE and the 1st round pick to work with.

That would be great if Lowry would sign back with the Rox in free agency. I'm hoping if he comes back, McHale will not be the coach so we don't have to worry about Lowry past issues with McHale.

I hear ya, and that's pretty much what I implied in the original post. The Rox CANNOT have another first round exit next year barring injury or Morey has to be on hot seat. He can't be above accountability.

coin flips? that's an amateur's approach. he should be drilling the mindset into this team that they need to go out and scratch and claw for every possession and TAKE wins. coin flips are for lotto teams

LOL this is how the guy uses stats to avoid the context. I can't tell if he's actually serious, or just trying to save face. Maybe Morey has never heard of execution down the stretch...an aspect the rockets completely crapped the bed in down the stretch. To say that it was a coin flip shows how out of touch he is.

I'm not saying Morey should be fired, but he's making excuses for McHale incompetence about the games being a coin flip. The Rockets should be up on the Blazers if it wasnt for McHale's bad decision-making from the start of the series.

Exactly, talk about saying one of the worst things at the worst time. What we saw wasn't a 50-50 draw, it was the rockets collapsing with early leads, turning the ball over, not playing a lick of defense, and straying from anything resembling an offensive scheme during crunch time....but please...its a coin flip

I don't know how prevalent this is in basketball, but all the top baseball front offices adhere to the idea that close games are mostly coin flips. Ironically enough, math nerds are more into the concept luck than typical people.

Hired that loser HC, wants to stick with that loser HC, he can go down with that loser HC.

He and that loser HC can go down with that gimmick offense, no defense bull****.

When it comes to results, Morey has nothing on his resume.

The rehiring of McHale proves that Morey is the real problem, the source of all the rot.

Man, this IS going to be a long off season.

Grass is always greener syndrome runs rampant around these parts.

By taking a snapshot of the roster the day before he was hired and comparing it the current roster. We have no idea, none, how much of this (Lin, offensive system) is on Les. I think Morey has earned more time.
