The "Michael Finley game" has been replaced by the "Mo Williams game". At least Finley didn't gloat about the win after the game was over.
Honestly I think the refs just think Mchale is just an inept coach it doesn't matter if they make the right call at crucial times or not.
No that's definitely not it. It's a frustrating night but that's a bad theory. I think the agenda was mainly to prolong the game and keep it exciting. We just happened to have a big lead that the refs needed to control and the calls started piling up against us to allow Portland to come back. Once that happened we lost our nerves. When everything we did was punished with a bad call, we lost focus on our game plan.
insurance in case the rockets got out to a decent lead. they would have been able to more easily eject howard down the line then by T'ing him up a 2nd time
Eh the refs have it tough. Don't get to upset over officiating because they will always blow calls. Not only that but u will never enjoy the nba. That being said how bout that Lin to? C'mon honestly who didn't see it coming.... Besides mchale
I've never seen worse officiating over the course of a series than this Rockets-Blazers series. I'm starting to think that Tim Donaghy, a convicted felon, was right when he claimed that Game 1 was fixed with referee Scott Foster with several "phantom" calls against the Rockets. Scumbags are always trying to get some extra money and cheat the integrity of the game to do it.
Oh yeah, I don't know how the refs did not get smart to Matthew's flopping not once, not twice, but THREE times in one game. Call a foul on Howard for correctly boxing out his man who has to fall down like a ****ing ***** right after the refs miss a foul call on Aldridge for not letting Harden come down on his shot. Such ****ing BS that we lost this game.
I don't give a 'rats ass' about the refs, give us a real coach WITH a gameplan and we would have won the series in 5.
I wonder if there's going to be another NBA announcement 'we had it wrong' That will be 2 of the 3 Blazers wins. It honestly is beyond reasonable doubt now that the Rockets aren't due to win this year in the eyes of the NBA. We have played pretty dismal ball for much of this series. And look at what Portland need to win these games. I'm in disbelief right now that the officials aren't even trying to hide the fix.
That's the most encouraging and simultaneously frustrating part. To have a successful season I think we need to win this gritty series with grind it out basketball. This experience will do wonders for our group, but we need our guys to see the next round and get a glimpse of the next level of grittiness required of them. I think their effort has been there so far, and to be denied a second round birth due to external factors just plain sucks.
There were definitely a number of missed calls but it will be a non-story by tomorrow when Donald Sterling is banned. We should not have given the refs the chances to miss those calls. Hopefully the NBA will apologize tomorrow and I can get some rest.
