Lol, exactly. Who gives a **** about the chick. Just some dumb broad who is using her looks to get the dollar. Sterling is the one taking advantage of that and he knows she loves him for his money and not his looks.

I'm pretty sure from the larger context of the quote that he doesn't have a problem with black people coming to the games in general. He has a problem associating with black people (it seems in part because of how his friends will look at him) - so he doesn't want the girlfriend bringing black people to the game, because those people will then likely interact with him.

His issue in these quotes seems to primarily be direct association with black people as friends, as opposed to having concerns with employing them or having them as customers, etc.

I hear all these quotes from CP3 and KJ and other influential members of the league talking about punishing Sterling to the fullest extent of their CBA or their NBA Constitution. I'm really curious as to what part of their agreements address private conversations that tarnish the brand of the NBA? It's just weird. Modern evolved people don't like what he said, but I really don't think there's anything they can do in terms of forcing him to sell the team or something like that. I'm not even sure if they can fine him much. It's not like they banned him from games...to avoid legal murkiness, both parties agreed to him not going.

I'm genuinely surprised the "I have black friends" defense hasn't come up earlier in this thread. shame on all of you.

Commissioners in all the leagues generally have pretty wide berth in "best interests of the game" clauses to do all sorts of stuff. I think they could fairly easily ban him from attending Clippers games for several years.

Sterling could always appeal and challenge it, but that would be an ugly process as well.

Thank you. I was feeling like I was the only one who saw that and apparently that makes me a racist too.

Look, there is no question that Sterling is uncomfortable with minorities (or maybe certain minorities). He has actually actively discriminated against them in the past, which is waaaaay worse than anything said in this audio. He has also attempted damage control by donating a lot of money to the naacp and other organizations-- money they had no problem accepting in the last. None of the stuff said in the tape should be surprising to anyone following or working for the Clippers. But there has to be moral outrage because it has blown up.

It's just hypocrisy. If the players, coach, etc have a problem with Sterling, why only bring it up now? Don't claim ignorance because all it takes is a ten second internet search to know the truth. There is simply so much pressure from social
media that it shapes opinions. So it is hard to say what is genuine outrage and what is a reaction put on to "say the right thing".

Its just ridiculous to me that this is still an issue... I mean what is wrong with black people? they might say they are poor or lazy or criminals (which every race/ ethnicity is) or whatever but none of that stuff has anything to do with freaking Magic Johnson, Magic is just about as wealthy and powerful as that old fart and he earned his money unlike most of Sterlings friends who are living off their great grand daddys oil money.

And to top it all off Sterling is a freaking Jew... there is so much wrong with this old mans view on life.

He is probably mad cause his ex is getting that long pipe now hahahahahahaa:grin:

Is anybody else wondering if this is a set up?

Sterling has been a perennial loser since he's been in the league. He's always shucked away salary in favor of losing and turning a profit. Now he's kinda lucked into a championship contender with the CP3 trade and drafting Blake. What better time to sell than now when the team is a championship contender? The value of that franchise has never been higher and undoubtedly it has spiked over the last year or so.

Now Sterling can get in a legal tango with the league and the other owners. Threaten to go to court, force the league to either buy him out or find a buyer quickly at his price in lieu of a protracted and costly drawn out legal battle.

I think the whole mess sucks and the idea that Sterling will profit off it as he heads out the door....just makes me sick.

I think this is the end result. He's gonna get a life permanban from all NBA fuctions/Games/etc... & he'll be forced to give total control to his wife.

Do you really believe the embezzlement crap? If this dumb b**** is capable of stealing $2 million without anyone in the clipps organization knowing it then they deserve it. That **** was fabricated and the truth is he gave her an amex card because she was sleeping with him. She used that card, and why would he want to go to europe with her and bang her in every hotel if she was stealing money from them?

    Naaah.

Sterlings going to sell the team....trust me.

The NBA made a mistake by not dealing with is in 2009. Now the problem has come back and hurt it in a big way

Dude disrespected Magic and the President has weighed in. No way the guy is going to continue to own the team directly or indirectly.

Listen to the recorded conversation. He says something along the lines of, "You're not supposed to be black. You're supposed to be a delicate white, or latina girl." His racism has obviously taken him beyond the brink, towards mental disturbance.

Sometimes people with a lot of hate (see homophobes) do so as a defense mechanism. They like something that they perceive to be culturally taboo, so they suppress it from their consciousness and react against it with an action in the opposite end. A lot of people with sex addiction or pedophilia become preachers/priests for this reason.

Sterling is just so old that he comes from a time (and a social status) where relations with black people, and even associating with them, was culturally improper. So this is a significant cause of moral distress to him. In reality he is beyond all help and will take his racism with him to the grave. Like the racist grandma Aziz Ansari jokes about who just needs to die.

Clippy- you have been spot on in your responses in the past 2 pages and ibtepreted the situation to the T. We do have some younger fans in here (most from Asia) who get caught up in social media spin and let their emotions get the best of them. Please continue posting your honest thoughts here - and lead the backlash against Doc for milking this situation and playing dumb to Sterling's past for $21 million. 3 scumbags in all of this, led by Sterling and his she man w****. Doc follows at a distance, bit still a sell out to his race like the Aftocan Kings who sold slaves ( slavery mentions were brought up by David West, Kenny smith). We have to eliminate hypocrisy on all grounds to distinguish racism ... From a guy who has not had anything to do with it in over 3 decades

Yeah, but you know it is a distraction. If it were me it would give me a reason to not want it and at least be okay with not winning it. It is win-lose either way. They win and they lose because his franchise value skyrockets. They lose and they win because he doesnt make money off their sweat.

I always wondered why so many clippers players got injured after getting paid like elton brand and baron davis. I guess this explains why.

So it is okay for a kkk member as long as he keeps his mask on to durvasa.

She says she was not the one who leaked the tape. Who knows how tmz got it.

She is a golddigger, but she does not own the clippers. And who looks worse, the one who gets paid for it or the one who pays for it? Boom.
