Mr. Silver needs to slap some sanctions on the Clippers, ASAP! If not this year, then next year... My proposed sanction would be that the Clippers need to play all road games next year, this way there will be no violations against his thoughts of other colors being in attendance.

If the other NBA owners force him out...perhaps...probably least likely.

The other option is to have his stock of the organization plummet completely. That happens when players stop going to games. Fans dont buy tickets, jerseys gear. Anything that bears the name of the Clippers or insignia should be tossed. He has made billions so money isnt an issue for him, but like any good businessman when the investment such as an NBA goes from 1 billion to 360 million in net worth over night, its time to sell. This POS has no place in the NBA or in any professional league. I hope all of his investments, stocks all plummet Monday.

What? How does Sterling not know if the recording is legit? He either said it or he didn't. It's not like this happened 20 years ago and would have faded from memory.

Next to every Clipper Jersey, the seal of the NBA is linked. The NBA owners and Adam Silver need to make an example of Sterling, but the greatest control is held by the fans, players, coaches, and management, especially those that are minority. I would not attend, play, coach, or manage the team.

If I was Doc Rivers, I would honest give my players the option of wanting to play or not. And as a NBA fan, I would not enter into the gym and refuse to buy anything else.

This would affect the annual profits of the Clippers, but not the team's valuation since the Clippers would immediately regain that value if they were ever sold and not owned by Sterling.

The people punished the most here are the players who are stuck without fans and the fans who lose their team. It's a great example of "cut your nose to spite your face".

Who cares how the chick came across? She's not the billionaire owner of an NBA franchise. She has no power. She has no influence. Donald Sterling does.

But at least he's honest right?

Could he cash a check from him? That's the real question.

He said what was in his heart.

He's been through these type of situations before, even from company employees who tried to sue him for this.

I have no doubts he's said worse before and he has and its recorded.

    Meh...

Fired one of the first black GM's in basketball.

Has one of the only black coaches in the NBA.

Has paid a number of black men millions.

    Has a half black girlfriend.

Guy says some vulgar **** behind closed doors but not so sure he really hates black people... I don't know... Regardless not his first example of being azzhat.

This is a very thoughtful post. It's easy to get on the high horse when anyone says something racially insensitive but it's important to think about context, as you have done.
