[NBA Gossip] Donald Sterling Hates the Blacks, Including Magic

I'm thinking that this shouldn't be wholly the responsibility of the Clippers' players and staff. The best thing the players and coaches could do is to work it out with the Warriors so that NEITHER team takes the court for the next game. This way it doesn't impact the outcome of the play offs yet still sends a clear statement to the NBA that Sterling should NOT be an owner in the NBA and puts it in the NBA's court.

After that, compete and finish the play offs.

There's NO way the NBA would have the cojones to suspend 2 entire team rosters in the middle of the play offs over something like this.

 

Sterlings frugality has a lot more to do with the Clippers being historically bad than his latent racism (which everyone has known about for years).

Anyone forming an opinion on this should at least listen to the audio and not just accept TMZ's word at face-value (this goes for anything TMZ puts out). Not that Sterling's views are defensible, but he certainly was not saying "boycott black people". The whole thing is kind of weird, like the rantings of a senile old man after being deliberately baited by his coniving w**** of a girlfriend.

 

If I am a fan of the Clippers' opposing team this playoffs, I'm totally bringing giant Donald Sterling faces to the games for free throw distraction.

 

We conduct thousands of business transactions with people every day, without screening them for their personal beliefs. People we might not like if we knew them personally.

A business arrangement with a person isn't an endorsement of their personal beliefs.

People have this naive impression that those with power are somehow morally pure. I promise you, there are people with way more money & influence than Sterling with far worse viewpoints.

 

Oh and in regards to the GF...what a POS. 1. dating a man old enough to be her grandfather. 2. Whoring her self to a known racist bigot 3. hoping that this TMZ scoop will land her fame and fortune. She is just another socialite trash. I listened to enough of the audio before my stomach churned. I actually never knew the extent of his inherent bias. And regardless of how he was raised, that should never be an excuse for the type of man he became.

I would feel sick if I was a minority player playing on the Clippers. I would feel sick if I was a member of the coaching staff or management.

How did TMZ get a hold of this? Was this not a private conversation he had over the phone with his GF?

Sterling has done a lot worse than this. Having a racist POV is one thing, but he's actually discriminated against blacks & hispanics in his much larger real estate empire (the Clippers are pocket change to him).

However, in the audio, it really doesn't sound like he hates minorities-- it sounds more like he has a bunch of racist friends who mock him about his gf & specifically about his gf hanging out with blacks.

 

How do you think? She set him up and sold it to them.

I picked up some of that too, but with his history I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt.

 

I kinda take it as a, don't bring your black boyfriends to the game. He is racist, but I think this whole situation may have gotten Kaepernicked!

Sooner than later, this "older generation" thinking will hopefully disappear. To be honest, it exists throughout the globe and from all cultures - not just the whites / rednecks in America. Sad but true, however, this is the history which was brought upon us. The good news is that we are ALL going to be bi-racial in the next 50-80 years. Of course I'll be dead by then, but this situation will eventually sweep itself under the rug.
