A lottery pick? Seems laughable but I had no idea we were capable of getting what theoretically could be the #4 overall pick for Asik's poison pill
Lin is not worth a first round pick. All Houston fans know that. However, Morey will get a first round pick out of him anyway.
Man, I'd be thrilled if someone took Lin off our hands for our late 1st rounder. A couple of future 2nd's would be noice
Maybe we can score a Kevin Love with Lin and a few throw ins? It's not like he's some cr@p player.... he's been on playoff teams every year he's played a significant amount of games. He's a gamer when you don't have a James Harden type to carry the offensive load. Maybe Minnesota thinks Lin/Parsons/Jones gets you back into the playoffs? Who knows. I know one thing: Maury is a far better magician than David Copperfield ever was.
Why bump this garbage thread? Lin obviously has negative value but there is no point in starting this up again. We just got a nice pick for Asik and are in the running for Lebron and Carmelo. Be happy with that.
True. Sorry if my statement was taken as a knock on Lin. He has value on the right team, I just believe that it will take something extra to unload him for what we want in return (cap space). If we can accomplish this while only giving up a late 1st rder, I feel like we win. Same goes for if he's part of the package to acquire the missing piece.
Do you mean if we trade Lin to a new team, the new team will be able to get a high first round pick the next year?
Well I guess if you're a GM that it all comes down to if you think your team environment is one where Lin can excel in or not. Not many GMs are high on Lin, for probably the same reasons that he was undrafted, cut twice, and left on the end of the bench in the first place. Most GMs aren't going to see his value objectively, and the visionaries who do are rare.
