Listen you people are going to just look at similar free throw numbers but let me explain something: Rockets have been significantly outscoring the other team in the paint, but are down in free throws or barely ahead? Game 1: Even in both regards: Game 2: Rockets Points in paint 68, we only shoot 3 more. Game 3: so far up 52-24, yet Portland has 20-8 free throw advantage
We got Foster, Zarba and Crawford for the first three games. Regardless of who benefited more from the calls, they're all really bad.
Portland fans aren't going to be singing the refs' praises after this game. The reffing has been atrocious all around. Then again, I've never warmed up to the modern NBA style of no-contact.
refs have indeed been bad on both sides. I'm watching on ballstreams and the portland fans in chat are pizzed off
They've been okay today except they're giving LMA touch fouls on one end and not calling anything on him on defense when he's doing a lot of pushing and shoving.
I got so irritated by that. The 1st play in OT where D12 posted up and LMA smacked him and you can HEAR it loud and clear, yet no call = Conspiracy! Lol
Im convinced the league isn't too happy with howard leaving la. Certainly the worst officiated series thus far since the rockets mavs series or lakers kings one.
I wouldn't call game one even on FTs. 8-10 of those were from hack-a-Howard. Plus they were up 17-0 at half which is a BIG deal in a close game. It is a unsettling that we are have an advantage inside the paint yet the FT's don't reflect that.
I agree 100%. I thought about this earlier. The whole free throws relative to points in paint thing. We are on the same page. I actually sent an email to the league office about it after game 3, and although I'm sure nothing will come of it, I just thought they should know their officiating doesn't make any logical sense.
