I think you are exactly right, they aren't going to gamble with a trade down, they'll pick their guy and call it a day. The trade down probably happens at 33.
this guys a fraud hes been spamming "its manziel" for the past ****ing 6 months and now this sausage mcgriddle is changing his ****. if youre gonna change stop saying **** like " i got intel = manziel"
Pancakes has lost all of his connects. I kinda like that BOB regime has been so secretive...bc you know... F the media.
Nah, he hasn't lost anything, he's been used for years to spread propaganda and he continued to do that this year. People shouldn't fall into the trap of taking him too seriously. Access has a price that he gladly pays by putting out whatever the hell they want him to.
I don't see this but I'm not as well-versed in the NFL salary cap. Why wouldn't this work Atlanta, #6, #37, plus next year's first and a 2nd rounder for Clowney at #1. Why couldn't we draft Clowney and then trade for this package after drafting him? Wouldn't the salaries be close enough this year? Better yet...Atlanta trades #6, #37, and next year's second rounder for #2, then trades us #2 plus next year's first for Clowney. We pick up Manziel/or Mack and an extra first rounder. Or we try to trade down one more time if we know the guy we want (Mack/Manziel) is going to be available.
Sounds good. I guess. But how do you know Mack and or Johnny are the guys they want...? Every week we hear they like a different guy.
i would post a nicolas cage you don't say meme but they at least gave us a team name who we would be dealing with. so i guess that's news. Trade or keep, Like dmx I'm down wit whateva'
I don't know for sure. Just a semi-educated guess. And probably a little bias on my part. I think Mack and Manziel are both going to be great. Iwished there was some way to get both guys. I'd definitely take both those guys for Clowney and our 2nd rounder.
I would take the field over Mack and Clowney... I don't believe they are the best defensive players in this draft. If they want to draft a defensive player in the 1st round _ they should trade back twice and get a defensive back (corner or safety) or someone to put on the defensive line with J.J. Drafting an OLB when we already have a 1st and 2nd round OLB on the roster when we have so many holes is like running in place. I'd be happy with any of the top graded quarterbacks, O-Lineman, or Watkins (who is the best PLAYER on the board with no question marks).
If that's the case they are better off staying at 6 and drafting Evans. Falcons fans are still talking about how the jones trade took away potential (and much needed) depth.
We aren't going to see a package that generous. 1st, 2nd, and a future 2nd is about the most I would expect out of ATL. And they would definitely be doing it for Clowney. The critical thing for Houston is to convince ATL that they're not allowing Clowney to go to St Louis either way. If ATL thinks we're bluffing, they can probably get a better deal from the Rams. You can't be an idiot and overplay your hand trying to get a godfather deal.
That's about what I'm expecting as well. The only player you break the bank for is a franchise QB. So if Mack or Bortles is the guy they want should they just take them at one?
Exactly. I reckon soe teams are sweating on Texans. They are waiting to see if we take a QB, then trade with Rams for less. Take Clowney and secure the valuable asset, then if a team really wants him, they have to come to the party.
I think Atlanta really wants Clowney. He's exactly what they need, and I think he wants to go there too (close to home). I think they will make the move to get their guy. It's just a matter of the price.
Salaries really don't factor into it. Just because you've drafted a player doesn't mean that he's signed and under contract. It just means you have the exclusive rights to negotiate with him. Those rights are what you'd be trading to Atlanta. This is what happened in 2004. Eli Manning let it be known that he would not sign with San Diego (who had the first pick) if they drafted him. The Chargers took him anyway but had a prearranged deal with the Giants who took Philip Rivers with the 4th pick. The Chargers traded the rights to Manning for the rights to Rivers plus New York's 3rd rounder (who ended up being All Pro kicker Nate Kaeding) and their 2005 first rounder (Shawn Merriman) and 5th rounder (which they later traded for LT Roman Oben).
