Didn't see a straightforward poll. Very simple question. Team is down 0-2 and on the road. Is this truly a reliving of Choke City or is this team just beaten and done?
I don't think it's fair to say people aren't fans if they say No. It really defeats the purpose of a poll. It's a question of it you think this team has IT. If it has the abilities and spirit to overcome the problems. A lot of teams don't.
I love the Rockets, and as a fan I will go down with the ship to the bitter end. But it only hurts more to set unrealistic expectations. Game 1 was stolen from us and we didn't earn it back in game 2. If we win this series... well, that's the type of stuff that we'll be talking about 10 years from now. I don't believe it will happen.. but I'll watch anyway.
No matter how tough the situation is, you always have to believe in your team as fans. If you gave up on your team already, then why bother watching games?
I would say we have no shot if Game 3 was at home. Being away I think is really great for this team. Their away record wasn't good in the season but they have to get away from the expectations of the fans. They must be embarrassed enough. It will be nice getting to a hostile crowd that doesn't want them to do well.
I'm sure everyone HOPES they win. That is why they watch the game. The issue is maybe if you had to bet $1,000 of your money, how would you vote?
Yeah we're at a what 4% chance of making out of the first round statistically historically. But last year we were deemed pretty much no chance of even getting into the playoffs. These guys will break through. I believe.
6% of teams that have gone down 0-2 have come back to win. I have seen nothing from the first two games that shows me that the Rockets have the heart, resiliency, strategy, or drive to win 4 of the next 5 games.
