How can you be the best GM in sports when you haven't won even a single playoff series? Open your eyes.

I swear no other manager in the NBA has this bizarre cult of personality that worships the man because he's good at math and likes video games. Morey Only Fans. Protecting their idol from all criticism, at the expense of the team.

How long has Morey been a god on this board. Only two years? If I recall correctly, hasn't he been GM for the Rockets for close to seven years now? How has Moreyball fared in all these years, no more excuses please, everyone of those have already been written on this board and are just being recycled season after season. Next year will be no different and so on as long as Morey remains the GM.

Yeah, I mean definitely Morey needs to be fired. Cause when he got the job the Rox had the oldest roster in the league, Yao Ming with the broken leg and Tmac with the broken back and broken heart. In 5 years Morey turned that into one of the youngest rosters in the league and we have two new young superstars on the team, and all this without tanking.

And you say you want the guy who did all that fired? Who the hell are we gonna replace him with? You? You act like all these amazing GMs are just sitting around waiting for somebody to hire them, NYC was so desperate they got Phil Jackson who is known more for coaching as a GM. Please

No excuses are needed, you only need to look at the roster before with Rafer Alston and now with guys like Dwight Howard to see what he did. I'm not really sure what you expect, a lot of GMs have been on the job longer and they haven't done anything either. OKC's Presti is considered one of the best GMs and OKC hasn't won anything in 5 years, and unlike Morey he started with Durant on the team along with all the capspace.

Why are people like always acting so entitled like if the team doesn't win a ring everyone needs to be fired immediately, the Rox haven't been relevant since Hakeem got traded to the Raptors so I dunno why people like you are acting like if we fired Morey we will magically become contenders. Oh I know, it's because this is random internet message board so you can act tough and pretend everyone can do better. Being a GM isn't like being an NBA player where you can objectively judge whether a dude is good or bad based on his play, you have to take the circumstances into account when somebody like Presti enters the draft and he has Kevin Durant and capspace waiting for him it takes a total numbskull to look bad. On the other hand when you get the team and it is capped out and your superstars are about to retire how hard do you think it is to build a contender out of that? This isn't 2k where you can trade Yao Ming for Blake Griffin and Tmac for Lebron just because they make the same salary.

The most "moneyball" team in the league is Miami, considering they have the single best value contract in the league, and probably 2 more in the top 20. Additionally, they've led the shift to shooting more 3-pointers, pushing the pace, and playing small. Chris Bosh shot more 3 pointers this year than Chris Paul.

I'd say they're a pretty good marker of success.

Simple response: You fire Morey, who's going to replace him that's better?

I've already read those excuses many times before, do you have any new ones?

If Morey knew he would bring in Harden and Howard, would McHale be HC?

Heads will roll if we're swept by Portland...hopefully

Your lack of objectivity or sophistication in these matters does not warrant us to waste our time trying to convince you. If you choose to believe Morey has not done a good job, more power to you. You are in the minority.

Morey has been nothing short of excellent. He is a major strength of the organization. He is a competitive advantage we hold over every other team in this league.

You can scream for blood all you want, but he is in no danger of losing his job, is on no hot seat, and rightly so.

Morey signs McHale for the next 5 years. It's still McHales fault

I agree with him on some points. We're going to start running out scape goats pretty soon. And Murray is going to have to respond for rockets lack of success eventually. I know some you geeks here think he's god but Mchale is just a puppet of Morley stats so i feel if Mchale is in hot seat so should morey.

What the hell has happened to Rockets nation? Pointing fingers and insisting that whom ever is in office has to go. Ok, then what ?

This is the result of a lack of patience for anything that goes sideways a little.

Youngest team in the playoffs. Most major assets added in just the last 2 years.

    Get Real !

We're averaging an all-star gained per year the last 2 years, and that average could actually continue going into next year. Even with an embarrassing sweep worst case, the Rockets are still clearly headed in the right direction of championship contention.

"In morey we trust"--the dumbest phrase I've ever heard.

A GM who holds more ground than god on this board hires mchale, let's dragon walk, signs Lin to a worse contract, and then trades brooks for peanuts. Oh did I mention his power grabbing moves to have puppet coaches?

But no...don't ever call him out. We are the Houston Moreys , and in him we trust.

i am convinced Morey signed McHale simply because he felt we wouldn't contend for a while. Well the rebuilding stepped on the pedal big time and im sure morey realizes Mchale isn't the guy. first round exit here would be good time as any to let Mchale go and I trust morey will make the right hire. People just find more and more bizarre reasons and ways to credit Morey.

This one makes my top 10.

    And got his 'yes man'.

Morey gonna hire McHale a new DC and say "all is well"?
