Not its not harder man. OKC just doesn't run an offense that calls for passing the ball around. Its not that hard but Brooks only runs his WESTDURANT Iso offense.

Memphis honestly didn't even have to work hard on defense because of that very reason. They only went to OT over a miracle 4pt play once again and you probably can't remember the last time someone other than the big 2 was taking a shot.

That right there is why OKC won't win a title with Westbrook. This guy is a terrible chucker who wants to be hero every time. Think he'd be more happy going to a worse team but being clear-cut franchise palyer there.

As for you being a grizzlies fan......

With all the huge upsets going on in this playoffs... I suddenly don't feel quite so bad about being down 0-2 against Portland.

I am a rocket fan. I do not suddenly root for another team because my team does something I do not like. I prefer the way Memphis plays (I like the defensive teams, and teams who play from the inside), but what type of fan would I be if I switched teams.

There is something magical when watching old people start bobbing up and down with there rally towels while DJ Paul's We Don't Bluff song is playing. I love there fans. The place is no joke. The fans are exactly like college hoop fans. Love it. If Rockets lose I'd rather see a team like the Grizzlies move on.

Being at a grizzlies game in the playoffs is the best. Even though the grizzlies lost, I'll never forget that triple overtime game against okc. I can always say that I was in the building for one of the greatest playoff games in the history of the nba, there is no lose in that.

I feel the same way, even though this makes zero sense. We should feel just as bad -- if anything, we may have a very unique year of opportunity where we could suddenly have homecourt advantage all over the place if we can just survive Portland.

But yes, it feels like an alignment of the planets or something epic like that. I've never seen this many first-round upsets in the NBA.

It makes perfect sense. Misery loves company. Schadenfreude. However you want to explain it.

It's also a relative thing. You don't feel like the Rockets are unique in their implosion, so it's easier to accept. It's tougher to be the Only team to drop the ball than one of multiple teams that drop the ball.

IE, if OKC and the Pacers as the #1 seeds can lose in the first round, then anyone can lose in the first round, so maybe the Rockets aren't an awful team but just hitting a rough patch. After all, OKC is a great team, right?

As for the upsets, the West is just really tough with 8 good teams. And the Pacers are really sucking so now the East is Miami + 7 mediocre teams. That means you have parity in the West, and something closer to parity in the East even if it's still going to be a cakewalk to the Finals for the Heat.

Every series is competive so far except us being down 0-2 on home court. Even Bobcats showed guts on Heat's court.

I think no team would come out west without serious injury/fatigure problem, so the Heat should benefit a lot from that, and most likely to win the champ this year.

It's a shame, because Heat would likely to fight for playoff spot if they were in the west. They are not even 100% to be in the playoff with much tougher schedule in West and higher probabilty of injury.

If the heat were in the west, they'd absolutely make the playoffs. There's no questioning this. Whether they'd win it all is another story, but to say they'd have to fight for a playoff spot is shortchanging them, imo

The Heat would definitely be in the play offs and in the mix for HCA.

However, I doubt they would get out of the West. At least I wouldn't give them any more of a chance than the Clippers, OKC or the Spurs.

First, they would be a LOT more tired when hitting the play offs. Having to play Western teams 3x per year is brutal, especially when at least 24 of those games are against the Spurs, Clippers, OKC, Houston, Portland, GSW and Memphis. No way they're even sniffing a top 2 seed with Wade missing as many games as he did this season.

And can you imagine the Heat having to run through Memphis, Clippers/GSW and the Spurs just to GET to the Finals? Then being expected to beat a team out of the East that plays the Bobcats, Wizards and Atlanta?

Getting to the Finals in the East is a joke for an Elite team.

True but they would have played better in the regular season to get homecourt.
It is pathetic how weak the east is, and if the Pacers do not beat the hawks there is really not 1 dificult series for the heat before the finals (and with how the pacers are playing now even if they do beat the hawks there will be destroyed by the heat).

The heat is the best team, but it would be nice if they had to work hard during the regular season and play offs (they really have been coasting it)

Heat plays weaker east teams 4 times and stronger west teams 2 times. It means 1/3 of their games would now to face west teams instead of east teams. That's about 27 much more difficult games, and it only takes 4 more losses from those to put them in tier breaker with Grizzlies for final playoff spot.

That's not to account for significant injury risks with harder schedule, which most west teams have to fight through(including us, imagine if Howard and Bev were healthy before playoff and we kept our momentum).
