What's so good about that phone? I was looking at the Galaxy S5/Note 3 and the HTC One M8. How does this one compare to those? Price is not a big concern as I don't switch phones often so I want to the best one I can keep for at least 2 years.
Wow that is an incredible phone at an unbelievable price. I just wish it wasn't 6". Did this come out of nowhere?
Man this S5 is an absolute beast of a phone. Especially for me when i have had an evo 3d for three years. Didnt have issues, so I kept it, but finally decided to upgrade. Dat camera.
Basically any high end spec you can find today is packed into this phone for a fraction of the price AND w/o a lot of the bloatware you find on the samsung or HTC phones. It doesn't have a microSD but they offered up a very generous 64gb, and no wireless charging (bummer but not dealbreaker). I'm very interested in the touchless controls and want to see how similar it is to the Moto X. These days I won't even consider a phone unless it has a 3000+mah battery in it. M8 and S5 don't, so those are definitely off my radar. The price is downright nasty that you can easily buy it, try it, don't like it? resell it if you wanted to. As long as it's still within the invitation period, you'd easily make your money back.
I have CyanogenMod on my current S3 so that's a definite plus. No microSD is a bummer. And I was looking forward to the waterproofing of the S5 (want some morning news/music in my shower). But I'll have to consider this one now.
I want that phone. I'll probably make that my next one. I love CM, but don't like the lack of expansion. Although, 64 GB is plenty for me. If I buy this, what options would I have in porting it to a phone company? And what's the cheapest? I'm thinking Tmoblie probably wins out.
You basically mirrored my thoughts. I have the Evo 4G LTE through Sprint. I've had CyanogenMod (v. 10.1) on it off and on. I'm bummed about the waterproofing (kayaking), and the lack of sd. Otherwise, I want it. This is the beginning of the next wave of smart phones, in my opinion. This thing could be a huge hit, as long as people overlook the name. The new world order with smartphones is all about customization. This one is customizable in it's software, only, for the most part, but in the future, it will be hardware that's customizable. The backings are interesting too.
Lol too big. Way to design yourself out of the largest target market. Wonder why they made it so big, likely to keep the costs down as they can fit in cheaper priced components.
haha. i'm never satisfied with a phone. just last year i went through a black nexus 4, white nexus 4, s4, moto x, white nexus 5. last year. sigh. now on red nexus 5. decided to stick to the nexus line until it stops (rumor). don't think they were looking at the target market. invitation system for purchase kinda gives that away. not sure where you're seeing "cheap" components. this phone's specs/components are equal to or better than the s5/m8. http://www.droid-life.com/2014/04/23/oneplus-one-specs/ what in the link above is cheap? with it having the same/better specs as sammy and htc flagships, are they also cheap? but i also am not a fan of the size. i'm not a fan of the size of my current phone either. moto seemed to get the x's size right.
Hopefully one day people will stop demanding bigger and bigger phones. It's annoying as **** because options for reasonably-sized higher end phones are practically non-existent.
i agree. nope. there's been quite a bit of controlled leaks for the past several months leading up to today. specs are great and all, but the best part is it's already running a souped-up version of cyanogenmod. usually, folks would have to unlock and root. cyanogen has already stated that they would support it for two years.
yeah i think nexus 5 is too big for me. the nexus 4 was perfect. but i think ill still get the 1+ just to support these type of phones. i never use wireless charging anyway.
If the OnePlus was a bit smaller, I'd consider it. I found that the best ideal size for a smartphone for me was between 4.7"-5".
hope its not like the S4 where initially its fast, then when u install alot of 3rd party apps it becomes r****ded... luckily the kitkat OS upgrade has made it better...
People are sleeping on the xperia z2, it's pretty much better in every single way to the S5 and M8 but no one knows about it.
It also hasn't been released here in the states. I know what you mean though. It should be getting more attention but Sony just isn't marketing the phone. OnePlus one is getting huge attention because of the price. I imagine if it was 700 bucks people would be weary of buying it since its not brand name.
