We're on the same page. Not to mix metaphors but I really felt like some folks were throwing off the sheep's clothing and showing their true colors. I've calmed down since last night as well and I've really tempered my expectations for this series. And as much as I hate to admit it I'm firmly in the "need a new coaching staff" camp now. At this point I just hope that we can make it competitive series. The fat lady is warming up but maybe we can throw a ham at her.

Harden has a lot of growing up to do. Getting smoked in the first round again can only help that.

It has to be frustrating, and harden doesn't deserve all the blame. Your coaches should put you in a position to be successful. When your play for harden is an ISO and then the same damn pnr every time good coaches can figure out how to stop that. Our coaches have absolutely sucked and we were able to get away with it in the regular season. Not anymore though. The only silver lining of being swept will be that Mchale is out and we can bring in svg or George Karl.

This. It's one thing to be the number 3 guy at OKC and quite another to be "the guy" in Houston. Expectations are so much higher and your every move is scrutinized to the nth degree. At 24, Harden's no longer a kid but he's never faced this kind of pressure before and it is showing. The bad news for Harden is that from here, it will only get worse. As LeBron found out, you really can't understand what it takes to win a title until you have gone through the process firsthand.

He doesn't care, Harden is not about winning a championship, he does not have that hunger. At this point, you should not need McHale or anyone to motivate you, the game it self should be enough! If what cyberx is saying is true then Harden is still not held accountable, can do whatever he wants and does not listen to McHale even if he tries. Harden is unmotivatable!

Harden is not 100% responsible for the losses, only person responsible is Mchale who i like a lot but just not as the head coach for the Rockets at least.

Harden has been spoon fed the entire season if anything Harden has gotten exactly what he wanted which is total ball control.

You want to look at players being put into positions to fail watch how Lin is being used.

this is a sad sad place. Good thing none of these posters are on the rockets or we would definitely lose.

It's going to be funny going through these threads if we win the series. Even if we lose the series will be pretty f-ing sad to see these so called rockets fans dancing for joy.

    SICK

So what in the past 2 games makes you think that the tides can change in the Rockets favor? Just curious.

Big timer some fans will over exaggerate out of frustration. Some are not as cool, calm and collective such as yourself and others. Like you stated we expected Da Real Beard and not some scared of the lime light player we see right now. Harden is disappointing everybody. He has that ability to take over games whenever he wants but it is clear to me that his focus is somewhere else. I'm starting to wonder is he hurt again because this is not the same player we seen since the all star break.

Now as far as putting people on the ignore list. I can see if people are down right disrespecting you then by all means. I don't understand why so many people on here put others on their ignore list because they are letting their emotions to get the best of them. I have noticed some people put me on that list and it is very comical. Reason being I am on here because I am a fan just like a lot of fans. My opinion is just like everybody else's, just an opinion. It seems as if some think they are more smarter or something or very sensitive. LOL Its just a sports blog and that is it.

Now I believe Harden will bounce back in a major way. We will win both games in Portland. I picked us to win in 6 but now I think we will win in 7.

    Lets Go Rockets !!!

game 1 we were up by 13, it took hack a howard, overtime, and the league admitting they were wrong JUST to get the portland win. Also harden didnt play well dwight didnt do much. We didn't lose by 40.

game 2 aldridge played out of his mind again (which is not the mean) harden had a subpar performance (not the mean either) and the rockets were hardly blown out. We didn't lose badly it was fairly close all things considered. People say mchale sucks 'didn't make adjustments' yet he did and played asik on aldridge. that was the adjustment and simply put aldridge played damn great. So hardly a convincing blowout.

now REALITY steps in that portland STILL has to win 2 more games. NOT 1 BUT 2 and after all this we will see first hand what the rockets are really made of.

It is a 7 game series not a 2 game series and despite the heartbreaking losses it's not a decisive we suck lets go home ( unless you are a cf poster quitter POS)

last I checked Howard is STILL good and Harden is STILL good and I just don't see us getting swept or beat so easily.

Will we win the series? Maybe not but to concede at this point and try to call it all mcfail or harden or anything simply is someone that doesn't know what they are talking about ..and has no playoff experience even from a fans point of view.

Olajuwon had to go to 5 games (back when first round was 5 games)just to beat clippers. Almost lost to knicks in game 6 of finals if not for a block by olajuwon then had to come and win in 7. Not 4.. 7.

Down 3-1 against phx (much much worse than this) and guess what? Up 2-0 to mavericks and we blew it.

ITS A SEVEN GAME SERIES. PRETEND LIKE YOU ARENT THIS WEAK

Yea he's young, n yea he was 3rd string in OKC, but dude has been in PO every year of his career, n he played in the finals, he knows what it is. Last year he got a pass since there was 0.1 chance of beating Okc in 7 games series, but this year no excuses. The only way he can fix this right now is if he bounces back next few games, starting with game 3. We lose game 3 we're out, n he n mchale are to blame. Granted only one guy showed up this far n his name is Dwight, but he cant do it alone. Playing hard n being not existent are two different things

    Logically, you have a point.
Harden, Parsons, Bev, Jones have all been playing below the level they normally play. Howard was the only one who stepped it up, and Aldridge has been playing at levels that are simply not sustainable.

You are right in that regard.
We SHOULD be better than this team. We SHOULD expect Harden, Bev, Parsons to rise to the mean soon.

In a seven game playoff series its a matter of TIME, though. The question isn't IF they will step it up, they will. The question is WHEN? Game 3 or 4?
We need a game 6 vs. the Celtics LeBron-esque performance from Harden. No more excuses, no more timidness, no more dicking around. This ENTIRE team needs to flat out stay serious all game. No celebrations, no joking around, no clown ass pregame warmup. Just fire, intensity, and hustle.

The Heat started winning once they took things seriously and this season win or lose should be the wake up call that you can't win a championship with that clownish "college" team culture.
That starts with Harden and Howard, and it also requires a more hands-on coach.

Losing in the first year isn't problematic to me, I'm only pissed because its hard not to get invested in this team. If we're playing the long game though, we can afford to suck the first year. Its a learning experience.
