And mchale is a goner. The rockets aren't winning this series. They MIGHT eek out one victory. This **** is over. Mchale has 2 or 3 more games as a head coach here. This thread is about to become a whole lot more relevant.
Please. The Rockets have every bit as much talent as the Blazers. They have two superstars. They have a quality small forward. They have a decent starting 4 in T-Jones. They have the best backup center in the league. They have one of the best defensive point guards in the league in Bev. They have a sparkplug off the bench in Lin. They have other young guys on the bench like D-Mo, Hamilton, and Daniels who can score. The talent is there. We could argue about whether or not this is championship caliber, but they're certainly good enough to beat the Blazers with home court advantage. The reason they're losing is because there's no leadership, no direction, no accountability. That's all on McHale. Don't tell me for one second that any of the other coaches mentioned in this thread would be struggling the way he is to win at least one of the first two games in this series with this roster at their disposal.
I assume that's sarcasm. The only positive thing I've heard said about McHale is that he's good at managing egos. But a lot of good that's doing us right now. Anyone think the players are happy in that locker room?
George Karl. Dude made an average team to a 3rd seed playoff team with the Denver Nuggets last year. Imagine what he can do with the Rockets? GEORGE KARL is the answer.
George Karl is kinda like David Moyes. Managed to make a small cap team like Everton do decently in the Premier League. Then he went on to a higher profile team and replicated his succ....... oh wait.
Melo is not what this team needs. They need depth, defense, and discipline this offseason. Not more scoring.
George Karl. You need a proven coach. Then mentor Kenny Smith or Cassell or someone to replace him eventually.
Hollins….. we need some discipline and accountability. Only choice!! if you bring in karl not enough defense, and if you bring in a younger coach you could have the same lack of holding players accountable like mchale.
The sad thing is that almost any of these names I'd consider an upgrade. Hollins Karl S. Van Gundy J. Van Gundy Ollie McMillian Karl
