Morey needs to be on the hot seat as well

People who are defending Morey are just looking at the "talent" on the roster. Yes there is some good talent on the roster, but my increasing problem with Morey at this point is his philosophy and McFail is an extension of his philosophy. The team's current philosophy will NOT contend for a championship. A better coach will be able to make better adjustments and the team may start to look more like a contender. But the team, even with a better coach, will need tweaking in the roster AND overall philosophy.

morey isn't absolved of all fault. he definitely doesn't need to be fired, but he needs to do some soul searching in the off seasons and take a good hard look at the type of system he wanted the team to run with.

pretty good in the regular season. terrible in the post season.

But, the way most folks here look at it, the faults lie with everyone else except Morey. If the Rockets do good it is because of Morey, if they do bad then it is the fault of someone else.

Yup, Maury gets all the credit and none of the blame, but it looks like some people are starting to come around. It was considered blasphemy to even criticize Maury not too long ago. Whatever he did, people would simply respond by saying "in Maury we trust" or posting that picture from the Knicks game, but it's good to see some calling for accountability at the top.

If Morey sticks with McHale, then yes.

He hired McHale. Morey wants to be the GM and wants a puppet coach. Not going to work.

If the next coach maintains the same ineffective strategy with no midrange game, then you know we have a serious problem. The signings since Howard have not been very impressive either. One wonders just how much Sam Hinkie was really responsible for around here.

Why is Morey in the hotseat? He designed this team to win by getting players who could attack the basket, shoot 3pters and defend. Guess what the Rockets AREN'T doing? We have plenty of young depth (Hamilton, D.Mo, Asik, Lin, Garcia) what he can't do is get the team on the same page offensively and defensively.

Oh right that's the coach's job. McHale is being out coached out there and Harden/Parsons aren't pulling their own weight offensively so we're losing. Any big surprises there?

why ? the roster is not great but good (need a better bench and a upgrade at PF) and deserved a playoff tested coach
you really want to fire a GM who turned a team whose better player were Scola and Martin to a 54-28 team in a loaded Western Conference in two years ?
+ we were never going to win it all this year, Morey's plan has always been to get a third star to be real contenders

Morey may influence the type of Offense we play but he cannot influence which player should be on the floor at what time, what defensive scheme to use, when to call a time out, what play to call after time outs etc.... this is what cost the game... nothing to do with morey...

Morey didn't "let" Dragic go. Dragic didn't care about the team and insisted on a stupid players option which forced Morey's hand.

If Dragic really cared about the Rockets he would have talked to Morey and found a way to stay.

The only thing I'm really upset at Morey about is picking Mchale over Lowry. He should have found a way to keep Lowry and find a better coach.

(Yes, yes, I know trading Lowry "got us" Harden, but right now I think I would prefer Lowry).

Morey put together a pretty good team and a fast rebuild of 2 years. Now his task is to hire a championship caliber coach and fill in the missing pieces for a championship run.

Only thing is, looks like he's got a faux superstar in Harden who could derail his plans.

    Bingo!

And fire morey to bring in who exactly?? Is there some other GM who could've pulled rabbits out of his hat as often as morey? Name one GM that you feel is significantly better than morey outside of the spurs FO. You can't because he doesn't exist. Unless of course you think there is another GM that could have traded peanuts for harden, drafted gems like parsons and jones, and signed guys like Howard, asik and bev.

Mchale was hired as a stop gap coach for a young team not expected to compete. Morey was able to turn this thing around with remarkable quickness. I was never a Michael basher but he is a huge reason why we're getting beat so stop looking at morey.

Because every GM gets two top players? You got to be kidding me. You sound spoiled man, the fact that he even got Harden and Howard is a testament to how good he is.

Despite the talent on this roster, Morey ball and lack of coaching have been exposed big time in these first two games. If Morey does not change his philosophy along with the head coach, why should he be absent of accountability? This team is lacking leadership, is very immature and is flat out stupid as a team overall. Many on here have expressed and admitted that McHale is an extention of Morey's philosophy so why should Morey be getting a pass at this point. The collapse the Rox are exhibiting at the current moment warrants everyone in the Rox organization to be under a microscope. I suspect few on here were expecting the Rox to hoist the trophy at the end of this year but to flame out in the first round couldn't have been seen as a success either. Yes this series isn't over and there is a small possibility the Rox can right this ship, but I believe Morey should start getting some scrutiny.

“One of the challenges with our starting lineup is, with James and Dwight and others in that lineup, it’s hard for (Jeremy) to be in full attack mode and that’s when we think he’s at his best,” said Rockets GM Daryl Morey on SportsTalk 790 last week

    Morey thinks hes the coach
