Lin was noticeably less aggressive attacking and he seemed a step slower. He didn't look 100% physically. He probably didn't feel a 100% either. Couple of his threes were in-and-out. Very close. And of course that layup blocked by Lopez. But overall that pretty much sums up his shots for the evening.
This is getting tiring. Lin played good in the first game He did okay on this game. Don't tell me he needs a s He had some boneheaded plays, but the game was lost even before that. Only two people showed up --- Howard and Beverley. It's on our team this time. End of story!
Why are you posting the same crap in multiple threads? Get off Lin's nutsack and put the blame where it should be: McHale and Harden
You make a very good point. His 3 pointers were all in and out, good looks, so no problem with those shots. Lopez made a good block, although against most other players, they get that foul called with the slight body contact. The problem on that drive also was that when he attacked the basket, everyone pretty much just stood around instead of also cutting to the basket through the open seams so they could get an easy pass for a layup or dunk. They do this when most players drive to the basket, but especially when Lin does...just stand and look. I think that stems from bad defensive philosophy and them being afraid to attack the offensive glass because they know they have to try to get back early to have any chance at defense at all.
Dude really? He's just calling Lin out for making the same dumb ass decisions as usual. FilAm isn't composed entirely of 15yo unconditional fanboys, so chill out.
Cant really blame the game on Lin lol. Foul or no foul we would have lost. And im sure its mchale who told lin to foul
Yes let's bump this thread after Lin had one good game and one ok game - while Harden had 2 sorry games. Where is the Harden is a playoffs joke thread? Where is the Bev is getting abused by Lillard thread - where is the What in the freak happened to Parsons thread - or maybe, Parsons is overrated thread. At least those threads would have some truth to their titles.
so Lin got blocked trying to dunk.....so what? if you don't get up, you will never fall. I don't see how it's such a big deal.
Linsanity was a trailer for a movie, Jeremy Lin is the movie that performs poorly domestically, but well internationally. In summary, the movie was better than the trailer.
My only question is why is Lin shooting treys???? All 3 of his shots were from dowtown throughout most of the game. He should have been attacking the rim especially when LMA was out taking a breather. We should have run more PNRs and got easier baskets.
Not a go at Lin, but he needs to be more aggressive and penetrate more to the basket. He seemed a bit passive to me with his scoring. He has a chance to make a difference to this team, bench player or not. I also feel he needs to go quicker at the basket instead of slowing it down and waiting for the Blazers defense to get set. This advice actually goes to all Harden, Lin and Chandler.
Look, Lin is a mediocre player but I will say one thing about him. When the rest of the team look defeated last night, when Harden looked like he just didn't want to play, Lin was still working. He is held back by the fact that he can't defend very well and that he is just not a good shooter, but Lin gives you what he can. We were in the bonus and the rest of the team was settling for worthless jump shots with a hand in their face. Lin gets the ball and drives. Some kudos to him. I'd rather lose with a guy like that on the floor because we just weren't good enough than to lose because you just don't try hard enough.
The jury is still out on what type of player Lin is. What the team needs to do is play team ball and get more people involved. Reduce the iso to the end of quarter. Play with a real PG role, not a SG moonlighting as a PG or a defensive specialist as a PG.
I do not remember seeing him handle the ball much in game 2. Too much Dwight posting, and also benched at weird times (Lopez block = bench?).
Yep, even if Lin's stats showed he didn't shoot well or played poorly, he was giving 100% and trying out there and contesting shots. I think most of the time when Lin had the ball he was just giving it to Dwight to set him up. A few times he tried to probe but other than that I don't think he got the ball nearly as much as Gm1 or was as aggressive. Game 3 should be a mix of, PNR, harden post, and a little of everything. dno't stick to one strategy...
Lin is not even the leader on this team, he is a temp ready to be ship out in the offseason, you want to blame him for his decision making then you better question what exactly is going on on the court, did mchale tell him to foul? last possession he passed the ball to harden expecting Harden to take the last shot, guess what? harden passed back to him. What was he suppose to do when the last play was design for Harden to take the shot and Harden f**king chicken out. There was no play called for last possession and you expect a guy, who got no trust and no respect on this team and demoted to bench all season to make something happen in the last 5 sec? this team has no structure, we give the ball to Harden every time in the late game, who the hell would expect Harden giving up the ball?
Howard demanded the ball from Lin all the time. Problem was DHO got cold in the second half. Now you got two ball hogs so Lin just doesnt have opportunity with clock to drive and make a play. He can only wait for a pass & shoot a three. After game one, Mchale's plan is have howard post up and get Harden going at all costs. There really isn't any opportunities for anyone else on offense.
