Why is it such an unfathomable concept that maybe he doesn't understand how to put together a winning mix of players and coaches??

We've won ONE playoff series during his tenure. ONE.

That was Adelman's coaching that won us that.

don't forget when he tried to win a championship with kyle lowry, pau gasol, and nene hilario, then david stern mercifully stepped in and disallowed such stupidity.

Right here is part of it ^^^^^^^^^

Au Contraire -We're damn lucky to have Daryl. He's one of the top 3-4 GM's in the business.

And I know I've been beating this drum/dead horse for years, but.....

THIS is what happens when LES ALEXANDER attempts to have his cake and eat it too. The Rockets are a work in progress, a long shot this year, but the moves in the offseason will yield a great team.

LES just had to have Jeremy Lin (INSTEAD OF SIGNING GORAN) so he could go on making 100's of millions in the Far East...THEN THE WIZARD MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO WIN SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. We're caught in the middle at the moment. We don't have the margin of error to have that money tied up now. Once we get a nice haul (an all star) for Asik and unload Lin we can take care of our needs. We are reloading on the run ....As to Lurch and his status ...We'll see.... He's likely a goner......If Phil Jackson was still healthy enough and not attached to the Knicks, I'd say bring him on. Right now, we need someone like Adelman (ironic huh?).....or another elite coach that can come in and handle a contender.

THIS YEAR WAS THE PRICE OF BEING A CONTENDER FOR THE NEXT 4-5 YEARS! SUCK IT UP, BECAUSE IT IS WHAT IT IS!

Exactly. like I said earlier, I've been a big Morey supporter since he's been here but the results are not there overall and at the end of the day, one playoff series win over his tenure is not that impressive. I'm just starting to lose confidence in Morey and his basketball philosophy. The ultimate goal is playoff success and its hard right now to see this style of play being successful in the playoffs as is.

Mchale is Morey's puppet, the team has moreyball all over it.

Although Morey does have an alibi, Mcfail.

it's not that morey doesn't want the team shooting the midrange shot, it's the fact that we don't have the PLAYERS to do it. When you have a pick & pop PF it opens up soooooooo many more plays.

See my sig, I've been saying this since last year, every finals team must have a pick & pop PF option, we are the only team in west without one. Mchale does a bad job with plays but other coaches have these guys who set picks and open up so much without even have to run plays. Just old school p&r basketball !!!!!! These teams aren't doing anything special

    clippers - griffen
    Spurs - duncan/diaw
    warriors - lee
    Mavs - dirk
    okc - ibaka
    trailblazers - LMA
    grizzlies - zbo/gasol
    Suns - frye/Morris
    Pacers - west/scola
    Heat - bosh

    Rockets - ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Right, and this falls on the GM. Morey prefers stretch fours now instead of pick and pop fours. Now we're seeing the results in the playoffs. The more I think about it, Morey's current basketball philosophy is just not championship caliber.

If Delfino was still with us we would have won the game today. Garcia can't hit a free throw, nevermind a three-pointer. Why did Morey have to get rid of Delfino? Also Delfino could play defense. This Hamilton guy is also not good. And Casspi can't shoot to save his life either.

Aside from the iffy players on the bench, this team is one of the most talented team Morey has created, with the 2009 roster being the most talented. You can't blame Morey for this, as far as I'm concerned. He got us two stars and surrounded them with several good role players. He has done his job.

Right now, the blame is falling on the players, particularly Harden, and McHale.

Probably because Delfino hasn't played at all this season and has a broken foot. But I agree, bench wing/ 3 point shooter is a must for this team. As well as a veteran power forward who can rebound and play some defense.

It seems clear that his current philosophy of how the game should be played is not effective. Statistics can only go so far. He has assembled a nice roster on paper, but if this continues then a full culture change seems absolutely warranted.
