The problem with Harden's style of play is that it isn't as effective in the post-season. He can drive to the basket and crash into other players and flop all he wants, he's not going to get the same calls he does during the regular season. You can't be considered a superstar when you rely so much on the referees to bail you out and put you on the line.

if harden didnt have 5 TO's and lost his man, I could forgive him for the piss poor shooting and bad defense.

Harden is still young though. Maybe getting bounced will humble him enough to be better.

The question is would you rather have tmac even if he is on the bench, or harden and his 4/17

One thing about T-Mac, he actually played better in the playoffs. The reason he never made it past the 1st round is largely due to his teams being crap around him. The only season where I felt like we should have won the series, no excuses, was 2007. Healthy Yao and T-Mac, but even then we had Chuck Hayes as our starting power forward and players like Luther Head getting huge minutes for us. Past Yao and TMac, that team was mostly garbage.

TMac did everything he could in the playoffs for us. I remember games where he may have been struggling, but still made plays to help. He did everything for the Rockets; score, passed the ball around, he was the only player who got it to Yao effectively. We relied so much on him and for the most part he did he job.

I don't want to knock on Harden, even though he deserves all the hate. He has been a no show for us. Honestly, very disappointing. I though Harden was going to have have huge games for us and play some defense. When he isn't scoring, he isn't much value to us especially if he isn't even looking for his shots like he was doing tonight. It's worrisome is he can get going in this series. Not only this year, but in the future as well.

This year's team has way more talent than any of TMac's teams, except for 2009.

Too bad we gave him the max contract.

Can we trade him for some solid 2 way players?

Yep. When it gets tough - he just jacks up a 3 or some other crappy jump shot or passes off with limited time on the clock.

The last one you said. Even if tmac didnt have it going he would always find his teammates and create for them. Harden does not possess this ability. He is so easy to render useless as long as an injured ginobili is not trying to stay in front of him.

Tmac is unselfish. Cant say the same for harden.

I don't buy this at all. He's been very effective at times in the playoffs, and there have been no shortage of ticky-tack calls in this series--it's just that most of them are going Portland's way because of lopsided officiating.

Something is wrong with Harden mentally or physically right now. I don't know what it is but I definitely don't believe that his game can't work in the playoffs. He can drive score off layups, he can draw fouls, he can hit mid-range jumpers and three balls off the dribble and off the catch. He can create for others. He has a complete offensive game, and there's no reason that shouldn't translate. But none of it is working this series.

I wonder if more is going on with his ankle than we've been told.

Yall say this but LMA got calls shooting jumpers. Harden drove into the paint more than him.

The problem with Harden this past game is that he gave up. That simple.

He's had big playoff games before, but he has to try first.

He was able to finish with contact in the regular season.

Fine that he's not getting calls, but he's not even trying to finish the layup in these games. Taking bad 3 pters to boot.

Both are known for never leading any team anywhere.
I still think Tracy McGrady could have gotten out of the first round with this roster.

It's not about his offense though he's suck last 2 games, but his defense is killing the whole team.
Even his offense revert to the mean, but his defense still there suck.

I'm sure this was posted but whatever, it deserves a double post.

James Harden in the playoffs as a Rocket:

    6-19
    9-24
    9-22
    4-12
    10-16
    7-22
    8-28
    6-19

    Total - 33%..... lololol

People should think of Clyde drexler instead.
I know not many saw him play, but everyone knows the overall results
