Just throw Asik on him. Our defense & rebounding will skyrocket

For me, the biggest problem with TJ's fit and future outlook on this team is the fact that he's mainly a scorer. What we need is a Marion type garbageman that can do the dirty work, clean the glass, defend and hit open shots.

That said, I like TJ a lot. I think he has the tools to potentially become this type of player. I just worry that his it's a mindset sort of thing; that he's already decided which type of player that he wants to be. A scorer. Basically, a poor man's David Lee that puts up big numbers across the board yet doesn't really impact the game as much as the box scores seem to appear.

Maybe he'll get better without the ball in his hands. In the meantime, I'm fine with giving D-Mo a look. D-Mo doesn't seem to care about touches or box scores; and like you said, might be able to offer us something that TJ doesn't. I expect to see him get some burn tonight, for sure.

Problem is DMo will be in foul trouble for the already limited minutes he's playing, but I guess it is better him fouling than say Asik or Dwight

Also i think LMA is a real 6'11 not a fake 6'11 like Dwight

I see D-MO as 6 extra fouls... might as well use them and see what happens

I actually like the DMo idea, worth a try. Actually, almost anything is worth a try.

Yes a secret weapon for all of 4 minutes before he picks up his 6th foul.

Playing DMo is the answer? That is so funny.

DMo can even not move his feet well, how can he be a secret weapon for Aldridge? Put Asik on him, this could be ok, but we are going to lose lots on offensive end. I see the coach will still start Jones, then switch Asik for a test.

Unlike emerging PF's of Morey's past, I actually think Jones has room to grow into a good enough rebounder, defender and even creator. Most players seemed to think he was the most improved player so he appears to have a strong work ethic. I'm not down on Jones at all, I just call it as I see it.

But he's not ready right now and it's playoff time.

I really think DMo can give us something...whether it be 6 cheap-o fouls or solid perimeter defense. Another good thing about DMo is that when he is on offense the ball moves, he rarely is indecisive about moving the ball to the guards on the perimeter. And if he gets a opportunity in the post, he operates quickly.

Throughout the season, and especially when DMo had a chance to play, the Rockets were pleasantly surprised with his perimeter defense and defense rebounding. That is exactly what this team needs now. If you want to use Howard to protect the paint, you cant draw him out with LMA. You keep him on Lopez and allow him to protect the weakside.

DMo also gives the team spacing...even though his 3 point shooting is below par, he gives a lot of space for guards to operate and Howard to work in the post. But once the shot goes up, DMo has a knack of getting quickly to the rim. If he doesnt get the rebound, he sprints back on defense.

Giving DMo a chance in this postseason might be the best move the Rockets can do to counter Portland's strategy. Anytime the Blazers, trot out LMA and Lopez, the Rockets should have Dwight and DMo. TJones was abused defensively because of a lack of size and strength. I am not saying DMo provide much more strength, but he does create a size issue for LMA.

Finally if the DMo suggestion isnt an option, why dont the Rockets consider playing a zone???

Playing a zone? That would not be working since they can shoot three well, we would get killed. The rockets would not need change much, play their game, then should win this game without much troubles.
