...and 1 vs Lillard is there reason why they lost in game one. Clearly Lillard was schooling him (31 points, 12 FT). I'm sure any point guard in the league can do better than that.
Not that it's that much better, but there were only 111 voters. DPOTY is for obvious reasons skewed towards big men - getting 2 votes when the only other guys under 6'7'' to make the list are Chris Paul, Andre Iguodala, and PJ Tucker is pretty noteworthy. The And 1 was a bad play (though I'm still not sure he made contact, but he was out of position). But if you didn't see what happened when Beverley wasn't on Lillard, you weren't paying attention.
Glad that PB got recognition in the league. Actually, all commentators have been praising his defense and energy at all of our games on national TV. Personally, I don't think he's there yet (DPOY), and he needs to improve the balance between aggressiveness and awareness of game situations. Top defenders like Bowen and Battier, all share the same philosophy - I am not going to stop you completely, but I will do my best to reduce your efficiency, without fouling. But he will learn as he gains more experience. Congrats, Bev!
That "bad play" was at critical time. Run around hand check is not a "smart" defense as I would said. 99% of the time Bev was on Lillard as I recalled and 31 point on CF's elite defender is embarrassing...
Why do you even post on this site? You obviously dont watch or understand basketball and only care for one paticular player.
Want to go check the play-by-play and see how many of those were scored while he wasn't even on the floor? We'll wait....
I'm perfectly sympathetic to folks new to watching the sport. Until they start bashing Rockets players based on uninformed or poorly educated opinions. To put it another way, it's fine to sit in on a network security lecture. It's not fine to start bad mouthing the engineer and telling him, "Just install Norton and be done with it".
What make you think I don't watch basketball? And what make you think I only care for one "particular" player? Do you want to name calling me? I'm COF..
It's simple. Defense in basketball is not just about one player or one on one match ups. Taking Lillard's point total and using that as your evidence that Beverley played poor defense is a fundamental (and VERY common) mistake. It's like only looking at the box score to determine how well a player performed.
