serious? the car was given the best safety rating ever.
how can you NOT like what tesla is doing. the specs on this car are amazing.
tesla is adding a shield before a recall is even issued (doubt it would even get there) thats tesla being proactive with their product.

instead of reactive and hiding defects like GM. i dont even need to continue with all of the other recalls for every car manufacturer ever.

bigtex respond with something substantial please.

how did you extrapolate my post to not liking what Tesla is doing? do you need a jump to conclusions mat?

I asked a question about their car fires, which were a news item a while back.

because it was in ignorance about the car fires.
the car was released almost 2 years ago currently ~30k model S' on the road... out of all of that only 2 have caught fire, due to accidents and another caught fire while parked for unknown reasons. (not related to battery/charging)

pretty small number if you ask me.

It's very clear how many of your posts are disguised insults and anyone with half a brain can see the pattern. It's cowardly to hide behind the "that's not what I said" line. At least have the dignity to own up to your beliefs.

It's no surprise you would attack Tesla with your first post in this thread. Coming from anyone else, that would have been a normal post, but you, not so much.

Not sure what was totally biased about his post.

Are you referring to the number of fires in Teslas versus combustion engines?

Anyhow, here is a thread about it on Tesla motor club. Yes I know it is a Tesla car owner forum, but they are good at bringing up issues. http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/show...rotect-against-battery-fires-Consumer-Reports

A software patch to change your car's ride height is one of the cooler things I've heard about this year.

    Go Tesla.

Anyone have info on how warranties would work in Texas? Apparently Texas will not allow servicing of Teslas.

Tesla should open their factory in Detroit, that would be a GREAT PR move.

    Great article thanks for posting!

I work for a solar energy company and the things we are working on behind the scenes with regards to battery technology are incredible. I'm really excited about the next 20 years.

Why would Detroit be good PR? Detroit would seem like a train wreck to deal with plus Tesla has said they want the plant to be solar and wind powered and Detroit does not fit that profile. They should do Texas since that would give them a base of operations in the 2 most populous states.

Except Texas refuses to let Tesla sell directly to customers while New Mexico allows them to. Texas's stupid dealership laws will screw them out of the Tesla factory.

The touchscreen dash is awesome. It's like a big smartphone.

A similar shield saved Pacino's life in Casino.

Why Detroit? Begining to revitalize the Rust Belt with a new take on an old staple in that town. Bringing hundereds of jobs to a city where nearly 1 out of every 4 is currently unemployed. There's two...

Additionally, Michigan has some of the largest wind farms in the country. Michigan is one of the country's leaders in the renewable energy push. Opening thier factory in Detroit would be an amazing PR move. Though I do agree that it would likely be difficult to do.

that's something tesla can haggle for. the factory would bring up to 6500 jobs to texas, which would look great for the politicians that negotiate that deal during election time. in return texas would need to allow tesla to do direct sales. tesla would gain more in that deal than going somewhere that already allows direct sales. everyone wins except the oil & gas companies, the big car companies and their lobbyists

Yeah I've had mine for about 2 months now and for the first time since I was a new driver, I look for an excuse to drive. Especially highways. The car is just way too much fun to drive with the instant torque the electric motors provide. Obviously the sheer weight of the car keeps it from handling like say a BMW, but the instantaneous acceleration is really hard to describe..

Higher cost to manufacture cars in Michigan since it's a union state.
