Manziel is also playing with elite O-Line, stand out wide receiver, and a spread out offense. You can't compare games because the other guy plays in different system and lesser talent. FYI TB last bowl game this year was one of his best. You don't draft a guy because of his upward trajectory or potential to be a game changer. There is a legit concern for Manziel as a pocket passer. His style might look like high reward if he succeeds but there is an equal and opposite bust factor with him as well. Do you wanna gamble that at 1.1? I don't think TB or Manziel are 1.1 talent, but what a worse year for Texan to have the first pick.
Not true... the top 1-2 picks in last year's draft probably wouldn't crack the top 5-9 in this year's draft. Just because there isn't a quarterback that you would want at 1.1 doesn't mean it's a bad draft. Problem is people limit their thinking to just a quarterback or Clowney when there are 12 players with a 93 or better draft grade in this draft.
Every time I saw Carr play he didn't even look like a good college quarterback. If his last name weren't Carr I don't think he'd ever get mentioned with the top QB's in this class. Not impressed at all with him.
Biggest load of Bullsh!t I have ever read. The only qbs drafted at 1:1 that were legitimate game changers have been Vick and Cam Newton
Errrr...Wrong They weren't gamechangers they were very good at getting the ball to the game changers. Elway would probably be the closest because of his ability with his legs.
Too bad you don't feel Dre and Hopkins have to follow those rules. Those two dudes catch the ball and go down. If Schaub throws a 8 yard pass on 3rd and 10 we usually had to send out the punt team on 4th and 2... Lol.. Just the same you need to have a definition on what you believe a game changing quarterback is before you tell other people they are wrong...
If Andrew Luck was coming out of Stanford this year, who would you draft first - Bridgewater or Luck - after all, Luck is not a game changer.
1st point is fair You want a Field General for the qb position. A QB capable of analyzing the defense and understanding how to beat the defense on every play in accordance to your offense. It helps if he has the ability to still make things happen after a broken play
Luck, He is bigger and his deepball is better I do think Bridgewater's pocket presence is better than Lucks and their anticipation and timing is about equal
I think we can see there's still one holdout clinging to irrational views on Mr. Bridgewater. This is approaching Ditka lore. I guess the question now is Luck or mini-Bridgewater because regular Bridgewater is apparently a no-brainer. Micro-Bridgewater or Elway? Nano-Bridgewater or Manziel?
