Riiight except the numerous "You might be a red neck" merchandise for sale, the huge amount of Duck Dynasty items for sale at places such as Bass Pro Shop and Gander Mountain that use the term "red neck" as a badge of honor..... then there is the prevalent use of "red neck" in country music....

Mind you, I am a southern white male that supports the Second Amendment, loves drunk bow hunting and flipping my ATV on my acrage..... AnotherBrother can call me a red neck whenever he wants.

He's half white, half African. It's a play on the two words. It's not racist. Racist is a word like the n-word (which I would never use).

and L-O-L. All the liberals can do is try (unsuccessfully) to pull the race card and make this thread about me.

back on topic, stellar job on foreign relations, Barack. (said nobody ever)

I almost openly predicted you would make that weak arse comparison, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt and you failed me miserably.
This quote from my all time favorite TV show captures your act perfectly...

"Nobody knows what's wrong with themselves, and everyone else can see it right away."

    -Mad Men

Get a clue my friend, you're too smart to make such a mockery of shared bandwidth.

Incredible that you are offended by "redneck" and think bi-racial people would not be offended by "half-rican" american.

Is anybody that surprised? Given such a useless Congress, Obama has had to focus much of his energy toward domestic issues. In addition, many things that would've pleased other nations (like the TPP) are being held up. I suspect this will mark the beginning of an American 'retreat' from global leadership, before it springs back into action in about 10-15 years time.

How do you assess the state of our country and foreign policy? How does it stand in history compared with other administrations? What should Mr. Obama do that he hasn't done, what should he not do that he is doing? What are the goals you think need to be met?

The article is arbitrary and subjective and assumes the authority to make a qualitative judgement without being qualified or peer reviewed. And frankly few people actually know what type of actions and dialog are being done in real time. It's not until the memoirs and retrospectives come out that you can actually assess anything.
    (see:http://www.politico.com/story/2014/04/george-w-bush-white-house-records-105851.html?hp=f1)

Like, in real time, yellow cake and WMD's seemed like real reasons for actions taken and it wasn't until years later we could assess it as a clown show.

The US is winding down some wars, engaging in others, continuing the Patriot Act, and managing complex engagements of competing interest all over the World. It seems like we are muddling along OK, better than some administrations maybe worse than some. Kids aren't being killed by the thousands, we are not in any egregious trade wars, NATO powers are creeping in on Putin, more people in the world are voting, genocides are down to a couple, I don't know what you'd want, but Whorled Peas ain't happening.

Texx just cuts and pastes whatever the talking points are on FAUX and says Obama is bad and that's the end of his intellectual involvement. Every thread he starts should just be titled: Obama Bad!

You know what is missing from this post? A reference to race. bigtexxx is racist for assuming you meant white people. I know plenty of black "rednecks".

Many of the author's key points stem from early in Obama's first term, 2009, when the country was staring at a potential great depression. Lucky for the US, China was willing to print trillions of dollars (yuan actually) and lift the US (and much of the world) out of a potential great depression.

It could be worse, where would we be with $40 oil?

    The points are as follows...

Texx didn't even seem to comprehend the article he posted well enough to understand that the author blamed a whole bunch of people in addition to Obama when talking about the foreign relations issues facing the United States today.

The "waste of time" here includes an utter inability on the part of some people to accept that a great deal of blame for a great many of our problems lie with Bush. Personally, I haven't heard Obama directly "blame Bush" in years, though admittedly I don't follow the president's speeches very closely. However, anytime someone does blame Bush for something, it seems like conservatives just seem to say "blame Bush isn't valid" when, I have to say, blaming Bush is the appropriate response when talking about things like our deficit and debt levels, the war in Iraq (which was what the author of this piece blamed Bush for), or any of the myriad of things for which Bush deserves blame.

He hasn't gotten US troops into a single war, which I count as a nice accomplishment given recent history.

Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (it is generally referred to as "BRICS" now). They are the biggest of the emerging economies.

Blaming somebody else for things your responsible for NOW is a waste of time and IMO a deflection of responsibility by the President of the United States is embarrassing. You can't fix a problem you don't take ownership of as a leader.

What ever happened to "The Buck Stops Here". Obama needs a sign that says "The buck stops anywhere else as long as stopping there doesn't make me look bad. Oh, and if anything crisisy happens, I'll be on vacation or playing golf. Call Bush it's probably his fault anyway".

Even if Obama just gave lip service to owning things it would be an improvement, it's not like he is getting another term so what would be the harm?
