Only problem is who to replace him with? I don't think George Karl is the answer and I doubt JVG is returning. Possibly SVG? But that may be too big of a culture shock with a group of players used to playing in a very lax and easy going environment. Dwight didn't enjoy playing for him even though his best years were under him and I can't see James being too thrilled to get called out for his defense. But of all the coach available he'd be the best.
He better be gone if we lose in the first round.

Coach McHale gets a very poor grade for his coaching last night. We're easier to defend b/c one person dribbles and the other four players stand in place. Or, they dribble and confusingly play pass and catch with each other until there is 5 seconds left and then it is time to jack up a desperation shot. Just utter craziness.
McHale can be replaced with a better coach easily. There are 10 better candidates available right now and yes, George Karl is one that would do a better job. Lionel Hollins would be even better.
Man, there's someone here who agrees with me..... As long as we have this "layups and threes" Moreyball system, along with the seeming belief that just taking those shots, without having to set screens or move players away from the ball, will automatically make an offense more "efficient". James Harden has covered up our deficiencies on offense.... The problem is when the opposition throws the kitchen sink at him to stop him, the team is ill prepared to effectively run alternative plays when it matters most. As long as we have "Moreyball" dictating how we play offense, the new coach won't be much different from the existing coach, offensively speaking.
I'd be shocked if McHale gets canned even if we do lose in the first round. Morey knows that McHale is one of the few guy who would follow along with his philosophy.
This is starting to be a concern if Morey requires an incompetent puppet to be his ideal coach. If that is the case, Alexander needs to have Morey on a short lease as well.

"Stotts clearly out-coached McHale and if McHale cant fix the Rockets problems then they are going to lose this series" paraphrasing.
definitely. literally ANY coach could've lead this team to 54 wins. a first round exit would be underachieving. he continues to be out-foxed by the opposing coach's game plan and adjustments.
not sure. but the sooner the better. at least remove McHale from the TC and make sure he doesnt leave any instructions with the coaches and players. Let Lin be the player-coach until new coach flies in.
To help recruit Dwight Howard. That's all this guy is, a recruiter since players don't really care for Morey.
Also, Morey knows that McHale is willing to be just a puppet for him. Morey is starting to become like a much quieter Jerry Jones.
And most fans encourage this reasoning.... It's as if Morey were a basketball savant to them.... that they trust his judgement over any experienced coach...
