Ok. Will they admit a mistake on Bev's technical too? Or what Asik's moving pick where he never touched the guy?

yeah f-ing disgusting that we even accept that this is okay on any level.

Make up call? are you f-ing kidding? its like an actual word or thing now.

It's like part of the deal now and we are all okay with it. This is a joke what this has become

Freeland was faceguarding a rebound, that's as automatic as grabbing someone round the body with both arms....

It was a poorly officiated game all around. Several bad calls against the Rockets in the 1st half that put both Asik and Howard in foul trouble, then several bad calls against the Blazers in the 2nd half.

This was probably the most significant call due to the 1-3 point swing with what ended up being a 2 point game.

they need to take away the refs ability to affect the game with technical fouls. anything and nothing can apparently be called a technical. and refs having power to give away points is ridiculous. nfl refs get chewed out constantly on the sidelines yet they can't punish teams for it.

I'm doing nothing of the sort. Please explain to me, however, how a player can be in front of another one, end up behind him on his back and then be charged with a foul?

And I don't care whether or not you're butthurt about the game; just be honest about it. I think that foul was complete crap, but it was obvious it was a makeup call from the previous one.

    Why are you so thin-skinned?

Whatever, if Jones could have kept his man off the boards in the final second of regulation, none of this would have mattered.

    NBA officiating is horrendous.

    Everyone knows that.

But the Rockets didn't lose that game because of the Refs.

It was ridiculous at the time because the ball hit Freeland on the arm and he didn't even notice it in time to make a play for it lol. He was too busy shoving Dwight as far back from the basket with all his strength.

And then when CWebb said "Ball Don't Lie" after Freeland missed the FT, I knew that I wasn't just being a homer.

And seriously, I don't want anymore make-up calls. I don't want anymore anything calls. No home cooking, no away cooking, how about NO COOKING. Let's have a fair game, and the Rockets should win that kind of matchup easily. It's called talent. Those who don't have it foul and flop more. I.e. the Sloan-era Jazz.

That play really wasn't a foul. Howard always does that swim move to get position for a rebound. Similar to how post defenders "pull the chair from under" a guy posting up, Howard did the exact same thing. When a guy like Freeland is putting all his weight on pushing Howard away from the rebound then doesn't have anything to push on because Howard did his swim move, of course he is going to lose his balance and fall down. Howard has been doing that forever and sometimes he does get a foul for that but it's more the referees see someone on the floor and call a foul rather than an actual foul.

That game was so poorly refereed anyway. The NBA has to be embarrassed. So many missed calls or bad calls on both sides. And it's been a trend this postseason one game into it already. I just hate when the NBA announces a mistake after the game and does nothing to fix it. I'm not saying that we win that game last night if they made the right call, but that call was a deciding factor to how the game played out at the end. I wonder why they can't review those kinds of fouls. I don't know. I hope the centralized referee system they are going implement next year, fixes missed calls and such.

We were down by 1 with a chance to take the lead with 2 FTs...That foul call directly influenced the outcome of a playoff basketball game regardless of how the teams played up to that point. I find it kinda pointless that they admit their mistake after the game's outcome has occurred. This announcement is really for the refs for the next game: "Give the Rockets/Clippers many more calls/leniency" in their next matchup... These announcements should be limited to teams that are affected and not the general public. All it does is rile us up for no reason.

The Rockets will blow out the Blazers in game 2 and get a lot of help in Portland in game 4. Book It.

Then why bring up the other play? To justify your luck in receiving this horrendous call, that's why. Of COURSE you're justifying this call.

It might help if you described WTF you're talking about here...or am I supposed to just guess?

Maybe you should be a little more cautious on the use of butthurt when you are a guest in a Rockets fan board. Or should I just start calling you the resident Blazers douchebag...

Funny, I don't recall the NBA talking about a "make up call" in their statement...only the part where Houston got screwed. But your homerism is noted.

Did you expect milk and cookies when you post your garbage in a Rockets board in a thread about a call that essentially sealed a playoff win for your team? Why are you so obtuse is a better question?
