That team seriously needs a veteran coach, like a George Karl. NYK will be worse off with a rookie HC.
If you saw the design of his defensive schemes, you wouldn't say be saying that... his defensive schemes were literally a horror show. Watch this and tell me that it's all on the players... You can only blame the players so much when your center and former DPOY comes out on the record and had this to say about Woodson's defensive schemes... http://nypost.com/2014/01/20/knicks-destroyed-by-nets-in-latest-garden-embarrassment/ And more recently said This.... http://nypost.com/2014/04/18/tyson-chandler-theres-a-lot-wrong-with-knicks/ And that's not even getting into his literally head scratching substitutions. Like bringing in Melo to play the 5... yes, you read that right. During one of the most critical games of the season chasing the 8th seed, he brought in Melo to play the CENTER position in crunch time while Chandler, Stoudemire and Aldrich sat on the bench. The roster wasn't great, that's for sure. However 37 wins bad? In the East? No... a lot of that has to go on Woodson.
Did anyone hear last night during the Wizards/Chicago game the announcers saying that Andre Miller was in the running for the coaching job? I found that weird.
Yes but are you buying the Steve Kerr Kool-ade? I sure am not. He was terrible running the Suns and has shown a complete lack of intelligence doing color commentary. He also lacks the leadership qualities that someone like Kevin McHale or KC Jones or Doc Rivers have. Kerr was routinely disrespected in his own locker room and when running the Suns.
A lot of people say this after every firing but the point is irrelevant most of the time. I love Woody more than most people here. The Knicks need a fresh start and had to clean house. On the other hand, if PJ hires Steve Kerr, oh brother!
I'm not buying the "Steve Kerr" kool-aid. I'm buying the "Steve Kerr is my right hand, and we'll hire competent assistant coaches" kool-aid. Woodson was supposed to be the "defensive specialist". With defense like that, who needs defense?

Not new that Steve Kerr is at top of Phil Jackson's list of one to coach Knicks but sides are deep in discussions: http://t.co/BuMdjnfgcT
— Jeff Zillgitt (@JeffZillgitt) April 22, 2014

Mostly what that youtube video shows me is Felton is a horrible defender and the Knicks have lapses where players should be held accountable. Poor rotations, swyping at the ball from behind on a pnr instead of fighting thru the pick, horrible hedging, etc. The Knicks do need a fresh start but what is most important is replacing the players and rebuilding. I bet PJ wants instant results and was hired for instant results. I won't have my hopes up.
