This team and coaching staff have low bball IQ. I've been saying all year this team mainly wins on talent. This team is not a smart team by any stretch of the imagination. Its painfully obvious and frustrating to watch. That is why I won't allow myself at this point to have high expectations of this team.
i took a deep breath, im still depressed...this isn't some bull**** regular season game, every game, every possession actually matters...
Great game to watch. Disappointing that Rox lost, even more disappointing that we actually let a double digit lead slip away in the final few mins of regulation using Hack-A-Dwight and them getting some lucky shots. Just had a feeling we would lose if the game was close. Portland is actually a better team than last time we played them. Rockets need to step up the intensity and not take things for granted. I still think if we play close to our best basketball, we will leave them in the dust so I'm not majorily concerned (yet). So keep your chin up and repeat after me "it's only game 1.....it's only game 1.....it's only game 1.....it's only game 1.....it's only game 1"
Pretty much, he had a career game. If he has a career game for the rest of the series then they deserve to win it. Other people are worried but I'm not. Rockets had a bad game and almost ran away with it had it not been for some insane shots the Blazers make. I also believe in playoff experience...and the Blazers will be riding high and content with a split while the Rockets will be playing desperate Game 2 and put all the pressure back on Portland to win both home games.
If anyone wants some advice on how to cope after this devastating loss, do what I do. Just watch highlights and videos on the championship teams. Sadly that always makes me feel better.
Hard to be positive after watchign the team give up double digit leads several times in the game and most importantly let an 11 point lead evaporate in 4 mins at the end of the game. Harden, was very unimpressive tonight on both sides of the ball. Its not all on Harden, but in the crunch he came up small, most importanly w/ 32 secs left he misses the and 1 after the foul on the layup that would have given the Rox a 4 point lead. Instead he misses and Lillard ties the game on a 3 and sends it to OT where Harden disappeared completely. I think if the officiating is more balanced, and we can figure out a way to slwo LMA down, we should win 4/6, but the way this team plays Defense and their lack of an offensive strategy and identity worries me A LOT at this point.
Right. Your team's IQ go as far as the IQ of the coaches. If you see your leader not attacking the basket and settling for jump shots most of the time...who do you blame but the stupid coaches. If this is Popovich...he would have been in Harden's ears already.
Harden is one of the elite penetrators in the NBA. He had a bad game. He doesn't need the coach to tell him how to play. What is your IQ by the sway since you seem to question everyone else's? By the looks of it not very high you can't understand that the playoffs are a 7 GAME SERIES! Get over yourself dude!
If Daryl Morey or his staff members had a account here, you'd be the first person I suspect This loss was huge. Will not feel better until we win the next 2
He had a bad game but he didn't do anything else to help the team win. Down 1 in the closing seconds and Harden takes a early contested 3? Terrible decision making
This is tough to take. I couldn't sleep well at all and I'm not going to be productive at work today for sure. Perhaps I need to be less of a Rockets supporter?
Yeah I really like our chances after watching game 1. We were up by 10 with 4-5 minutes to go, and they hit some miraculous shots to get back in it. All of this while Harden, who has been shooting lights out since the start of this year, went 8-28. 27 points on 28 shots? When was the last time Harden scored less than 1 pps? Not going to happen again. He will get it together and go off in the next game. Key right now is, Game 2. If the Rockets can win this game, I think they will win the series. Of course if we lose, this series is over. Also Beverley's status is key. Lin will get eaten alive by Lilliard therefore, if Bev is done, it will be tough to pull this out. Hopefully we get to see some Troy Daniels, he is a decent defender. Lets all stay positive. All is not lost yet.
Their two headed monster was on last night. Rockets can not allow that to happen again on Wednesday. Need to go for the kill once they have the team down by double digits.
I'm exceedingly calm about this series. Even if Bev is out I think win. Though I think the correct decision would be to start the TTs next game. Not just for guarding LMA, but if Bev IS out, then Lilliard will be getting into the paint at will against Lin and we need all the help D back there we can get.
I'm good now I was pissed off lastnight but now I believe we in 5. Lastnight just showed me we are a much much better team than Portland with as puss poor as our stars played we were right there. Woulda won if it wasn't for some shady officiating and hack a Howard.
