Even with Garcia rotating out - at least at this point would have confidence in his shot - I actually preferred Hardens tough jumper. Unless its a wide open layup/shot I rather have the star take the last shot. If Garcia was hot then yet but Garcia was not at all so I am ok with Harden not passing it off to him

even then Jones was supposed to run to the spot behind freeland on the baseline I think thats what James was expecting to see Jones there but he didnt so he had to at that point try to take a tough jumper since there wasnt much time and the defense started to collapse big time around him the moment he stopped.

see the problem is Dwight probably would have rolled to that spot or showed much harder - which makes that "6th" foul all the more damaging to the team

Game three is not until wednesday...i would rather play them on tuesday. 1 less day for the fans/players to cool down. Games 3 and 4 are only two days apart.

It's not dumb it's common sense idiot. Morey's philosophy doesn't win in the postseason when the game slows down. The problem is how can we slow it down when we've been brainwashed to run ALL SEASON by the GM who wants to be celebrity but absolutely accepts zero blame when his philosophy backfires. Morey needs to hire a real coach and stop trying to coach the damn team

Some pick and roll and screens to get Lin or Harden driving to the basket could've made the difference.

Bev should've sat when his knee started to re-aggravate. I love his toughness and energy, but we need him throughout the stretch of the playoffs.

    Man this sucks.

That wasn't as bad as the Mav's collapse....but my god...that was bad.

I hate to complain about the refs....but some of those late calls....like the last one on Dwight....when he should have been shooting free throws.

    **** the NBA.

its a good point, except its an "after the fact" type thing where...we may not have been in overtime if he didn't have 3 horrible plays in the 4th. 4 if you count the late layup vs Aldridge that hit no rim. I'm not saying thats an easy shot, he did a good job GETTING open... but then he either needed to pass or get a passable shot... not throw it 20 ft in the air because he got open for 1.3 secs.

and NO...I'm not just getting on Lin, this game was all on every single friggin Rockets player AND coach. Hack-A-Howard? Oh, lets take him out so we have no defense and miss out on him getting rhythm. Bring in Asik? NAH, lets leave him out, put TJ on Aldridge who has almost 50, and allow easy basket after basket after basket after basket. and THEN, lets take really, really ill-advised jumpshots with plenty of time on the clock. oh, and not setup any plays. oh and our bench does nothing. and our starters. The Rockets failed horribly in so many aspects of the game to finish, and yet lost by just 2 in OT. I'm extremely and stupidly depressed over this loss, yet I still think of how Aldridge had to be CRAZY hot, hitting last 2nd 3's multiple times, and then some circus tip-in to get the game tied for OT.

I mean... this game was so winnable it makes me sick to my stomach.

so yeh, Lin had 7pts in overtime. Thats good. I was happy and glad he got some grooze back. Here's the thing though... each game I don't yell "gdmt Parsons/Harden/Howard/etc!"... its only every now and then at most over weeks of games.

Tonight I yelled it 3 times in the 4th just for Lin. *shrugs* I don't even dislike the guy or anything. Did we lose because of him? nah. Did he contribute to the L? yup.

If Jones had cut to the rim and held his left hand up, Harden could've hit him for a dunk.

Portland blew up the designed play and Harden seemed to struggle for a plan B.

Didn't even notice this. He couldn't move to give harden a passing lane if he tried

I would take the Mavs loss 100 times over our loss. Their shots just didn't fall and the Spurs took over. We choked with turnovers and Howard missing free throws. Spurs took it from the Mavs but we gave it to the Blazers.

And Beverley going down just ruined the whole night. Just a total collapse.

He contributed more to the opportunity to win than he did to the loss. The stat line and the string of timely rebounds, points, charges drawn all speak to that. Playoff series are ultimately about the stars and the Rockets two stars were simply not better than Aldridge and Lillard. The way those 2 guys have been playing since Portland's March losing streak, I don't know if Harden and Howard can keep up. They will need Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons (and probably Asik) to perform well to win this series.
