Yep, been watching these playoffs games for way too long.

That road team always comes out and plays great in the first away game. They got a lot of energy and they have been told by so many "They can't win." and play with a chip on their shoulder.

I expect a convincing win in game two. Rockets will be pissed and there will be a lot of hubbub about the foul calls against the Rockets (even now...) and the refs will feel like giving us a makeup game (as sad as that is...)

Also...teams are hard to beat in the playoffs when down. You always see that when a team has their back against the wall they play desperate. Game 2 for all of these favored teams outside of Miami, OKC, SAS are all must wins, expect a lot of convincing home wins...

We put ourselves in position a different couple times, where we extend the lead and go. They started fouling Dwight, attacking the basket, getting us in foul trouble. We didn't defend their push.

Last play: we tried something and they blew it up. They had no bigs in there. We were trying to get to the hole. We didn't get that. James picked it up, got a shot late, he's made them before but not a smooth running play.

 

Beverley's style of play is not sustainable. Another injury for him in these playoffs was probably inevitable.

 

if bev is out for injury team is done. unless Canaan goes off. not enough pg depth. AB looks good about now.

 

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but I don't know how this team recovers from this.

 

Lillard missed a lot of FT's that should have went in. Aldridge with those two 3's was just deflating. Just dumb plays on our part, everything is 20/20 in hindsight.

 

Lol Mcfail damn near killed his players during the season to get home court and then lost it in the first playoff game.

Mark my words......Portland will win this series.

Why was Jones in the game with 24.5 sec left in OT? Wright, Lillard, Batum. Mathews, and Mo Will was in the game for Portland.

Knowing that Lillard would get the ball in a pick and roll situation....why would you have Jones in the game? He can not stay in front of Lillard on that switch smfh.

Mcfail is the worst coach in the playoffs.

To the people who are downplaying the loss of this game in the playoffs. It's a huge ordeal. We're not superior to the Blazers, we're slightly better. With one game in the bag, it would have been one game less to win. One game off our backs and off our player's mind. One less game to watch mind numbingly frustrating basketball as we go through our Jekyll and Hyde routine.

Now they have to wait until Wednesday to play catch up. After that, they have to go into enemy territory to try and steal a game. That's a lot of pressure for a young team.

 

Harden"ed" Legs

I don't see how Harden is tired late in the game. He was dragging his feet the entire game. There wasn't any of his usual bounce, and outside of a few attempts, he hardly ever attacked the basket. The Beard needs to spend less time at the strip club and more in the gym. This is the playoff. You have a long offseason to do whatever pleases you.

Howard played poorly in the 1st half, but played like a man possessed in the 2nd half.

Bev and Chandler played their hearts out. Lin was actually contributing which was good to see.

The refs were absolutely atrocious though. Didn't have a clue what to do the entire night. No consistency in their calls whatsoever, just random whistle for the sake of blowing them. Rockets need to send the game tape to the league office and demand heads rolled on this one. Just a painful game to watch from an officiating standpoint.
