ClutchFans Game Thread: Blazers @ Rockets 4/20/2014 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

Yeah, but they also took Aldridge and Lopez out for the Blazers. Fouls were basically even in OT. The difference was the Blazers made more free throws down the stretch and more importantly attacked the damn hoop. The only reason the Rockets got to the line late in OT was off of offensive rebounds.

 

Ref suck we only went to the line 7 times.

 

The positive take out of this is that the Blazers had to play out of their mind to win this game, while the H&H Bros had probably a bad game. Thinking about it, it really doesn't bother me too much! We have to go into Portland to win anyway.

Whatever. The nba hates the rockets. The game was first the prime time game to discuss on tnt and the nba wants to please dwight haters.

Bounced out of the first round again because everyone bets houston.

 

Bev was the least of our problems tonight.

Matter fact there are a bunch of reasons before point guard play on why we lost this game tonight.

 

Too many one on one plays tonight. Everyone is trying to be the hero. Just calm down and play our team ball!!

 

On the bright side, Clippers also lost at home.

Completely winnable game. Completely useless coach.

 

This happens if you only rely on a couple of stars. When Harden is not going, there is no way Rox can be a contender.

 

He did a decent job on Lillard.

Well, I think staying on ClutchFans any longer will essentially equate to me being a masochist. Guess I'll try to sleep the misery away.

That sucked. Hate losing a game we should have won, but POR didn't give up when their two big men fouled out. Tonight's rotation was a bit different. I thought we should have countered more with a bigger line-up against Aldridge and Lopez. Well, pressures on to win Weds, we better get 'er done.

 

If Beverley is out (which it is looking likely he will be) Rockets are done in 5 at most

 

I blame Harden and the refs.

I'm actually encouraged by tonight's game. Would have won easily if not for LMA's prayer 3 followed by a Batum 3. Before those two plays, we had the game in our control.

Just hope Bev and Parsons aren't hurt too bad physically, and Harden isn't hurt too bad psychologically.

Would like to see Dwight go at Lopez from the start of game 2. And was it just me or did our offense look better with Bev and Lin in the backcourt. Crunch time, Harden iso is fine, but 2nd and 3rd quarters, I say go small with Bev and Lin out there.

 

We lost because of terrible officiating and Harden not getting the job done on offense in the 4th.

People underestimate how hard it is to play defense with 5 fouls. That's why Portland was able to score at will in the 4th quarter, we couldn't touch them or we'd foul out. Very lopsided calls.

Nail in the coffin was Harden unable to be the Harden we expect.
