A bit like many games last night, this one (so far) is being decided by the PG play/effectiveness.

True, it should have been Grizzlies vs. Spurs and Mavs vs. Thunder .... but oh well .... you guys shouldn't have lost that last Memphis game.

One thing the Rockets have been good at doing all season is stopping Tony Parker.

When Beverley can harass Parker and even when he gets to the paint there is Dwight and Asik there it's not a coincidence the rockets have dominated the regular season games. That said, in a series, if we do have to match up with the spurs the Spurs can win if Pop thoroughly out coaches McHale.

Lin also played shut down defense on Parker, holding him to 6 points when Bev was out. Parker can't shoot threes, so it's OK to go under the pick to defend his drive.
It's much harder for us to stop Chris Paul or Steph Curry because they have range to keep defenses honest. You can't cheat behind screens on those guys.

I remember that one game early on the season where we were blowing them out and then Tony Parker single handedly brought them back in the 3rd quarter to make it a close game.

This is the one game where if the home team loses the first game, it makes no difference. I have seen the Spurs lose SO MANY Game 1s, only to come back and win the series, that I'm immune to them by now. I mean, anything can happen in the playoffs, but it wouldn't shock me at all to see SA lose and then sweep the rest of the games.

Anybody notice that Dirk is bricking open shots, and that the Mavs go on a run whenever he's on the bench ?

I am shocked that someone as experienced as Marion would consciously decide to go so far under a screen on Manu Ginobili. Carlisle just as surprised it seems.
