I've read on multiple accounts that book readers will be surprised as to whow this season will go down, so don't expect it to follow the same route.
If I had to bet on the final scene(s) of the season, it would be Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin and then escaping King's Landing. All the Theon stuff is from Book 5.
I've read that too. Typically I'm not a fan of significant deviations from the source material, but if they decided to let the red viper survive the fight I wouldn't be mad at all.
My money is on the reveal of Lady Stoneheart being the final scene...which is funny because I was certain that would be the final scene for season 3.
I don't see how they could let him live. He's fighting as Tyrion's champion so if he wins the fight then Tyrion is free and wouldn't need to escape King's Landing. It would also change the story regarding the Sandsnakes. I can't see them changing the story that much.
I know, But I would love for more Red Viper in the show, he was one of my favorite characters in the books.
C'mon guys we all know the Viper is a goner. no way they'll let him live. It would change the story drastically. I think when they say book readers wouldn't know what to expect, they are talking about combining stuff from books 3, 4, and 5. I doubt they make big changes to story line. I'm thinking more little things like how Jaime showed up at KL before Joffrey's death and using Sansa's necklace to poison Joffrey instead of hair garment. Had forgotten about lady stoneheart!! Maybe the cliffhanger at episode 10 will be when she is about to hang Brienne and she says a word... that would be epic.
A lot of book 4 and 5 is internal thoughts and descriptions of things that will quickly be condensed or cut all together without having to rewrite the whole story line if they don't want to. Though I'm sure they will deviate some of the story lines significantly, just as they already have with many of the characters. I hope they don't like the actress playing Shae so much that they have her live and take Penny's place when Tyrion flees across the sea. I hate the TV portrayal of Shae, and it really makes no sense why either one of them would like the other one, much less love one another. Tyrion rarely does what Shae wants, so if not for the money what is there for her to like? Shae is a constant b****, so if not for the sex, which he has been turning down this season, what is there to like? Book Shae was complaining about not being able to be closer to Tyrion too around this point of the story, but book Shae was 90% seductive and 10% high maintainance b**** prior to betraying Tyrion. TV Shae is 90% high maintainance b****, 10% seductive. It's odd that they also cut all the sneaking thru tunnels by Varys to get Shae to see Tyrion safely, which forshadowed Tyrion sneaking thru the tunnels to kill Tywin.
Yes she was. I was looking for her during the play of the dwarfs in the purple wedding, but didn't see a female dwarf.
That would be good too, but you have to wonder about the actors. How many times has Stoneheart appeared in the books? Twice? I can't imagine the show doing what the books did, bringing Cat back at the end of one book (season) and then not appearing again until halfway through book 4. When they bring her back, they have to have things for her to do. I think simply because of lack of book material involving her thus far, they'll wait until Brienne is about to be hanged for her to appear (which won't be this season). I think that would be just as dramatic, if not more so, than her reveal at the end of ASOS. Book 6 should be out by then and they could maybe use some of that material earlier (like they've done with Theon).
They can't let the Red Viper survive with out major changes. The most notable change would be Tyrion would be let out of prison after the Viper killed the Mountain so no need for him to flee Kings Landing for escaping prison. All sorts of things would change including Vary's leaving Kings Landing after helping with Tyrions escape. Varys and Tyrion leaving Kings Landing are integral parts of the story.
I could be wrong, but I think they are going to accellerate Brienne's storyline wanding the countryside. It was really all pretty boring anyway. And I'm sure that GRRM has more in mind for Lady Stoneheart than what we have read so far in the books, so it might be if they decided to accellerate that storyline we see much more of Stoneheart starting in season 5. I mean, seriously, the showrunners are still talking about ending the show in 7 or 8 seasons. They are going to have to significantly condense/cut some of the material from the books in order to get there.
for everyone who ****s on affc and pretends the story could be shrank to 500 pages, i understand you were blown away with a storm of swords but there were plenty of significant events that happened, i really hope they spend the time in mapping out those events through television
seems like a lot of people were hungover from the rockets loss to appreciate the latest episode, i thought it was really good, my question at this point is does little finger kill lysa arryn this season, if you remember she admitted to killing her husband and that's pretty much why she was killed
I tought the Arya hound scenes were interesting, I do not remember such a scene in the books, but I think this is a good way to make the betraying of the hound by Arya more believable in the show. Also the dutchman did have a nice scene with killing the Mereen Champion, I really prefer him over the previous actor playing his role.
