If you take the fiery intensity of Beverley and combined it with the shot selection from Rudy Gay... you'd have Russell Westbrook.
That would be a love-hate relationship. A severe one.

Or I could take the fiery intensity of Vernon Maxwell and combine it with the shot selection of Vernon Maxwell....and I'd have Russell Westbrook.

Yes, intensity and shot selection. I'd say that Westbrook hits his shots much better than Maxwell did. But Mad Max's defense was on another level.

Could you imagine if Gabe was an Indy fan sitting courtside and saw that?

Disclaimer: I'm not interested in seeing anyone from any team get hurt.

With that said it would have been incredibly hilarious if he injured himself there. Westbrook has the intelligence and temperament of a small child.

Natural selection in the NBA. This is why these super athletic PGs always have issues. In WB's case, it is in conjunction with the tiny noggin he plays with.

forget ACL injuries or anything major. what about an injury that just puts him out of the playoffs ... like damaged fingers from them being caught in the net. pure dumbness.

    Hey Red,

The timing of this article could not have been any better :)

Like I said, fiery and questionable shot selection!

    Today on Houston Chronicle

Vernon Maxwell still remembers the plane ride vividly.

The Rockets had lost their second straight playoff game to Phoenix at The Summit the night before and trailed the Suns 2-0 in the second-round series.

Maxwell, a fiery guard who despised the taste of defeat, looked around the plane to see the faces of his dejected teammates.

"Everyone looked like deer in headlights," Maxwell said. "Their heads were hanging low. It was not a good sight."

Maxwell was angry. He couldn't stand the thought of the Rockets' season coming to an end.

"Y'all can do whatever y'all want," he told his teammates matter-of-factly. "I'm going down shooting, though."

    ........

"You can't ever count yourself out. You have to go out with everything. Go down shooting."

Saw him once at a food court in Houston when they were in town to play the Rockets. Food court was busy, but nobody really knew who he was. He was listening to some music on his iPod or something and blabbing out really loud trying to draw attention to himself. Looked like a dumb ass I thought.
