Based on a bestseller by Gillian Flynn (who wrote a new ending for the film), it brings Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross back to score.

Anyway! I still think Ben Affleck is perfect for this role. He'll make a ****ty Batman, but a sleazy, people pleasing, insecure little douchey guy that dicks around and maybe murdered his wife? He'll be perfect.

Fincher = Must watch. Best director in the game, IMO.

I read the first 100 or so pages of this book, and it was pretty great. Haven't had time to finish, though. Can't wait for this one.

Heh. You've only read the really good part then. The first half is terrific. The next quarter of the book, decent. The final part, not very good at all. The good news is Fincher and Flynn scrapped the book's original third act and went with something entirely new. I'm not sure if they kept the ending itself(which was a letdown for many including me), but if they did improve it, then we could be looking at a very solid mystery/thriller.

I've read that the entire 2nd half plus the ending is changed. So I guess that's a plus if the book ending is meh.

No way they changed the entire second half. Maybe the last third and the ending, but based on that teaser, it's pretty clear they kept the first 2/3 of the book intact.

What the teaser didn't show was any glimpse of Neil Patrick Harris' character who factors heavily into the last third of the book, so it's possible they did completely change that part.

NPH, O'Bannion & Tyler Perry in one movie. What could possibly go wrong?

NPH is actually perfect for the role of Desi. O'Bannion as Nick Dunne could work. He's a guy you alternately root for while despising him for some of the things he's done. Affleck pulled off a character like that in Changing Lanes. I don't know why they cast Tyler Perry though. Hopefully Fincher knew what he was doing there. Interestingly, in the book, his character(I think it's Tanner Bolt) is white and married to a black woman.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails is working with Atticus Ross on the score for this film (yet another Fincher project). They won the Oscar for best original score for The Social Network, and were snubbed of a nomination for The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo.

Didn't get to watch the trailer when I originally posted, but after seeing it, wow. Looks great. Fincher makes some amazing trailers.

I hope Fincher makes this adaptation his own like how he did with Fight Club because the second half (maybe last third) of the book really sucked.

Agree with all who thought the ending sucked. But it says a lot about the book when it's still one of the better ones I've read in the last few years.

He didn't change that much for Fight Club. The only major changes I can remember off the top of my head(it has been 15 years since I read the book) were the way the Narrator gets out of that jam when those dudes were about to castrate him and the ending itself. In the movie, the bombs go off. In the book, they don't and the Narrator winds up in a mental hospital(although he thinks he's in heaven).

Fight Club the movie didn't change anything, just omitted parts.

I'm still waiting on the Survivor movie, stupid terrorists and 9/11 ruining the chances of my favorite Palahniuk book being adapted :-(

I think changing the ending was pretty important wouldn't you agree? The ending to the movie leaves the Narrator and his gal pal's life up in the air while the book pretty much puts him at the lowest possible place (aside from actual death of course).
