So how good are the spurs that they can just run with their bench and the game is still pretty competitive? I had no doubt that the starters would pull this one out, but jeez. Spurs man.
If Popovich running circles around McHale means getting swept by McHale then by all means keeping running circles around McHale.
Hopefully McHale is smart (big if) and lets the bench play most or all of next game to help them get in some sort of rhythm - hopefully get Daniels some burn as well.
McHale needs to figure out a better rotation concerning the bench this last game. I really wish Greg Smith could have been healthy b/c Dmo is really stinking it up. And for the love of God, play Troy Daniels you stupid coach!
Our bench played only 58 min vs 103 for Spurs. That difference is on the coaches who have not given them the trust. You see how the Spirs trust their bench.

Their best is still not enough to beat our best. We just need to get our backup wings hot--Garcia, Hamilton, Daniels, any assortment of them, in our games. There's a reason why we always played Chandler with our 2nd unit. Our system needs two playmakers.
Thoughts: 1. Our starting lineup is built to beat the Spurs. We have strengths is almost all areas, and unless Parker has a time machine, he can be somewhat controlled by Bev and Lin. 2. I have zero confidence that our bench may hold any leads. This is on Morey for not getting us veterans that could make a difference. (I know, "flexibility...). 3. Any win over the Spurs are not to be taken lightly. Pops have turned them into Robots, and even their scrubs could beat most NBA teams anywhere. 4. I love my Rockets, but due to our weak bench play, I am not mortgaging my house if there is game 7 in San Antonio, assuming we beat the Blazers.
I actually am impressed with the win. The Spurs play well whether they have starters or bench players playing. Harden was off but it didn't really matter. The Rockets have a beg advantage inside. If they meet again in the playoffs it will be a fun series.
Can we clone Chandler so he can play with both the starting and bench units? Some of you are talking about the Spurs system. Well, in our system, we need two competent playmakers on court at all times. If we can get one of our backup wings to shoot well, we can rest Chandler early so he can play with the 2nd unit. How difficult is that to figure out, McHale?
That lineup of Lin, Asik, Garcia, DMO and I forget who the fifth player was, was just weird. Hope I don't see that one again.
