Wade did a great job in some aspects.

Ed Wade also came into an organization with Pence/Oswalt/Berkman/Lidge.

Overall, I think Wade played his part well, but we needed someone different long-term.

Applaud Wade and criticize Luhnow and everybody loses their ****.

Essentially Wade turned Lidge into Obie, Pence into Singleton/Cosart/Santana, and Oswalt into Villar.

Not too shabby.. But of course.. Ed Wade sucks, Jeff Luhnow is the best, blah blah blah.

For me, I think Wade is under-rated, but Luhnow has done a good job as well. And his trade with the Blue Jays is the equivalent of the Pence deal with lesser players. It was a flat steal. He also had an amazing 2012 draft (we could see 10 guys make the majors).

It is reasonable to ask how has Oberholtzer managed to be this good when his minor league numbers were so pedestrian. If he continues this way, I think we'll be able to forget about how the Bourn deal went down.
