So far, I've been impressed with the battery life for the M8. I've only had it for a weekend, so its hard to say how it handles my daily work routine but was watching the Masters for around an hour and didn't see a huge drop in battery life at all. The camera is pretty weak tough, especially compared to my Nokia. I'm not a huge picture taking guy, so its not a deal breaker for me.
Started having problems with my LG G2. It has been dropped before, about 3 weeks back, and ended up with a scratch on the outside of the phone. Since then it has worked 100% fine. On Sunday I awoke and it had a screen like this: Spoiler The touch screen works fine except for the top 1 inch of the screen is unresponsive. It is where the notifications bar is but I can still access it when flipping my phone sideways. Took it back to Verizon and they said that it should be under warranty, ordered another, then said if they find the problem is my fault that I will have to pay full retail price. Kind of hesitant now because I don't know if it is a software issue or the previous drop was the culprit. The screen isn't cracked or damaged at all. Just want to avoid paying full retail for a phone when I can ship it to LG, wait 2-3 weeks for it and pay less. Anyone else had something similar or heard of this problem before?
Hate to say it, but I'd wager the drop is the culprit. I run the same phone, and have had zero issues. Have you tried a factory reset?
I have not, it is worth a shot. Of course I should have just dealt with LG instead of Verizon as they offered to repair it in case it is not under warranty instead of paying full retail price if the warranty doesn't cover it.
Only other thing I've found online with the same issue is from this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/lgg2/comments/1wqpct/lg_g2_touch_screen_defective_areas/

Can't view that link at work, but it would seem to me that if you had defective areas on your screen, it wouldn't appear suddenly out of nowhere. They'd be defective out of the box. I recommend a factory reset. You'll lose your data, but might regain your phone. If that doesn't do it, time for a replacement.
Tidbits from it Spoiler Going to go into Verizon in about an hour to ask them about it. Should not have ordered it through them yesterday and just gone to LG directly. Either way I refuse to pay full price for a phone that I have already shelled out a few hundred for.
Wow, that IS weird. Yeah, I'd stand my ground on this one. Sounds like it's a documented issue with this phone.
when i ordered my s5 at at&t the sales rep guy who took my order created a new contract plan for me, when i wanted to be added to my families share value plan. when i went in to pick it up i asked the sales rep to add it, but i can't do that without my dad present. so, my dad talked to a sales rep in the katy store and she told him to tell me to call her and she can take care of it. i called the store yesterday and they told me she would be working today and to call back. so i call back and now they are saying no one by that name works there. WTF. now i'll have to wait until the weekend when i can drive back to katy and take care of this in person. also when waiting for my phone to arrive i called on friday to see if it was there, and they said it wasn't. so the next day i check the usps tracking system and it said it arrived on wednesday! so i call them saturday and they say it's there afterall. freaking nightmare. rant over
Went to the store and talked with another representative. He said he has personally seen this problem before and that they should fix it no problem. His concern was since there was a mild dent on the outside they might refuse it which he said would cost ~$100. Going to return the new phone when it arrives and send my current one directly to LG. If it is under warranty it will be taken care of regardless but this saves me a lot more money in case they choose not to. Now to play the waiting game.
Two days of use, the Gear 1 (gear 2 is dropping soon) has been pretty amazing. I can control my Spotify from the media controller in the car so I dont have to look down. Notifications come in instantly so I can read and voice reply to texts or emails. I can answer the phone on the gear too. It functions great as a watch, and as an extension on the phone. Great purchase at the current price point!
ive got the S4... is it worth the "upgrade"? plus i just update the OS to kit kat.. funny easter egg installed BTW lol
Not sure if the Z2 is headed to the US, so its kind of a non factor. The few days I've had the M8, I've been really impressed. Besides being the best looking phone out in the market today, it seems to do anything I need it to really quick.
oneplus one was finally revealed today after generating quite a bit of buzz for the last few months. comes out the box w/custom cyanogenmod, same processor as s5 and htc one, but at nexus prices. http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/23/5642810/oneplus-one-smartphone-official <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/evEiekq_Di8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I so so so want this phone. At that price point it's a no-brainer. The only thing now is to get an invite. Clutch pact? If i get one, i'll give you an invite and vice versa?
