These terrible team have nothing to lose so they are playing like it's their playoffs. Just trying to end their season on a positive note. But we better get our sh^7 together defensively or we will bounced out the playoffs in the 1st round. These last few games we played like we did at the beginning of the season. Leaving shooters wide open, not communicating at all on defense and giving up to many offensive rebounds.

Bwhahahahaha no sir the MVP of the game was Patrick Beverely. He hit some clutch threes and made a couple critical steals. Plus his energy and hustle plays were key.

The fact that he did this so much leads me to believe that this is what the coaches are telling him to do. If it wasn't, you'd see the coaches coming to him during the time-outs and getting on his case about it (or yanking him from the game).

    No Parsons.

    Lineup has been changing!

    They will be just fine.

He's giving a pretty good demonstration of just the thing he asked for.

Don't get it. I thought the point of Bev starting is to harass the starting PG and provide non-stop on the ball pressure. So why did McHale then moved Lin to defend the Rivers, their ball handler, after the beginning?

Something to think about. Unless the Rockets have a switch they are going to flip when the playoffs start, there is a realistic possibility that they will get swept even with HCA. They are struggling against second and third tier players. Really struggling. Playing the worst ball of the season. Very bad timing.

Might be a blessing in disguise. Good reason to get rid of McHale.

This team will be fine. They won the second half by 19 points. The lineup just added two starters and lost another.

It might take one game for them to get back to where they were.

    This team might sweep Portland.

I so hope you are right. I was also thinking that the "scrubs" the Rockets are playing against have been sitting all year, have fresh legs, tons of motivation to prove that sitting them was a mistake. Probably a factor.

In the last weeks of the season the 'scrubs' are often more dangerous than the regular starters. They usually haven't played heavy minutes the entire season, and many of them are playing to stay in the NBA.

The better players on the bad teams are resting for the off season while the better teams are looking to remain healthy and many of them already have play off spots locked up or are looking towards the play offs.

If you're only playing 15 MPG and are about to lose your contract (like most of the players on the Lakers for example), you're fighting for your NBA life and more playing time.

It's a perfect storm to see the best of the 'scrubs'.

The Rockets will win round 1 on talent alone. The Blazers are a threat if you allow players like Batum/Mathews to consistently go off. They have no answer for Harden and Dwight while they depend on two players who are very inefficient. The Rockets don't need defense to beat Por.

The Spurs struggle against athletic front courts/dominant wings.

The Spurs couldn't beat Hou/OKC right now.

I notice many people throwing around the word "scrub" when the difference between them and legit starters might have been proper support and nurturing of their abilities. Often mis scouted talent. I have a feeling, some if given a chance with regular playing time are better than some starters. Either way these scrubs would wipe the floor with any less than NBA player.
