Casspi looked bad last night. But with Parsons and Garcia out with injuries, we didn't have many other options. Hamilton hasn't looked any better than Casspi in my opinion. Let's face it, Morey hasn't really given McHale much to work with if Parsons isn't playing. In the end McHale went super small with Daniels, Bev, Lin, and Harden and we won the game.
Went to the game last night and geez he was jut horrendous out there. Not just his play but also his body language and hissy fits. Harden got into with him when he got doubled and it led to a jump ball. He was also pouty everytime he blew a lay up or turned it over.
I would not want to see Casspi out there playing again. This man just don't have the will to win. Missing opening layups. Missing 3's. Getting killed on defense. Only thing he is good for is rebounding, he does go up for rebounds.
His lateral quickness, or lack thereof, is appalling. Just a black hole when he gets on the court now. It's like Jeremy Lin squared in terms of how his confidence has ruined his outside and his inside shot. All those goofy looking drives to the hoop that resulted in made buckets early in the season are now missing by wide margins. It's like he's gone Chuck Knoblauch on us and is just trying to cover it up until the season ends.
It's not about the will to win, It's about the skill to win. He tries to do more than his skill set allows him to do. He's had some good games, but he is not good when he tries to create offense. When I watch Casspi struggle I realize that Parsons is really good at what he does.
Knoblauch is a bad example because he actually was a good player for a few seasons, the only thing Casspi has done is make a few 3 pointers in the pre-season.
If the Rockets are trying to sign additional players like Josh Powell, then it may be Casspi on the way out. Brutal, but necessary for our playoff run.
Dont worry, all these scrubs are not going go be with the team next year. morey has a complete offseason to find veteran role players
Lol at the pittman comment. He is a fat, slow scrub. Dont get all dubious because i know more about the league than you. Covington cant get playing time over guys like casspi, d-mo, and garcia. That says enough.
The shocking thing about both Casspi and Hamilton was how they were able to play real good for the first 4 to 5 games. You think they were just seasoned and knew what they were doing. Later both just couldn't dribble or pass right nor even have a shooting touch. I'm speechless as to what happened or how? I mean Lin got kinda dumber as well so anything is possible.
Casspi is a player that needs big minutes to play well, but he just doesn't play well enough to warrant them. Bench players need a certain kind of mentality and Casspi just seems like his confidence is easily shaken and then he plays really erratic.
I agree. He always seemed to really thrive or wither by the vibes from the crowd... I remember how he was on fire in SAC when he was rolling, pounding his chest after he made his shots. He is momentum player and a fans' player, so it makes sense that the cold tone in the stands (and in CF) makes him play worse and worse... A pitty... I wish he had managed to sustain the love from the crowd (by playing better). He COULD have been Delfino 2.0 with the roars in his back. I've seen him do that in Maccabi & in Sactown.
He sucks. I tried to tell you this when the season started and you began posting all your Casspi is a "great" role player threads. He's one of the worst players in the NBA. He doesn't even belong in the league. He's so bad that he makes Jordan Hamilton look like a good role player. You should realize all this by now. Lol @ you blaming the crowd at Toyota Center and ClutchFans for him being a garbage player. Not even the LOFs would say something so stupid.
i get the impression the past several weeks his erratic play has been less about confidence and more about being desperate to produce numbers to secure his next contract somewhere in the league. too many times he hasn't moved the ball for the extra pass to the open shooter and too many times he's attemped wild shots in the paint over the defense. early in the season he was playing a lot more unselfish
